Chapter 710 - Chapter 711: The Qiankun Continent

Chapter 711: The Qiankun Continent

This was a dense, verdant forest, where a fine rain drifted on the breeze, leaving one feeling as if bathed in spring and utterly at ease.

Yet in this somewhat primitive jungle, one could search as far as the eye could see and find no sign of people—only endless towering trees and the whistle of the wind.

The north wind howled as it swept through a patch of thick undergrowth.

The grass was blown aside, and faintly, a green‑robed figure was revealed within.

The man's clothing was in tatters, his body covered in blood, and even the breath at his nose was extremely weak.

Had the faint stir of life not still remained within him, anyone would have taken him for nothing more than a corpse discarded in the wilderness.

After lying in silence for a long time, the blood‑soaked "corpse" trembled slightly. His tightly closed eyes slowly cracked open a sliver.

Hearing the wind's howl in his ears, the green‑robed man could not help but twist his lips into a bitter smile.

He, the Heavenly Ancestor of the Tianxuan Continent, a being worshiped as a god by countless lives, had actually ended up in such a wretched state.

Just what kind of godforsaken place in the Great Thousand World had that damned spatial storm thrown him into?

The identity of this not‑quite‑corpse was, of course, Lin Langtian, who had just escaped from the spatial storm.

After being separated from Lin Dong, he had planned to force his way through the storm and descend into the Great Thousand World.

But that storm was truly terrifying; even he had been dragged into it.

Only after being savaged by the raging spatial power did it finally spit him out here like so much garbage.

His body had been ravaged so badly that his injuries were now extremely serious; he did not even have the strength to stand.

Almost an entire day had passed since he was thrown out.

For that whole day, he had lain here like a corpse, relying on the powerful regenerative ability of his body to slowly mend his heavily damaged flesh.

Under normal circumstances, his recovery would never have been so slow. But because he had come from a lower plane and had not yet converted his yuan power, he could not actively absorb the spiritual energy of this world and could only heal passively.

His fingers twitched with difficulty toward his qiankun pouch, drawing out a healing pill. With a tremendous effort, he lifted it to his mouth and swallowed.

Even this simple movement sent lances of pain through his body, cold sweat beading on his forehead.

If not for the protection of his Kun Dragon body—his flesh as tough as that of a divine beast—he would have been torn to pieces by that violent spatial power.

Even so, he had been reduced to a pitifully injured state.

"As long as I can recover a bit more, I'll be able to heal myself, then fully convert the yuan power in my body into the Great Thousand World's spiritual energy. That should let my injuries gradually mend.

"Let's just hope I don't have the worst luck and run into some wandering spirit beast right now. To fall to the jaws of a beast after surviving what even Supremes cannot overcome would be truly unacceptable," he thought to himself.

He had meant to ask Aunt Ling about the Great Thousand World, but as the pill's warmth spread through his body, a wave of exhaustion washed over him once more, dragging his eyelids shut.

As his eyes slipped closed, he seemed to faintly hear chaotic voices and startled cries in the distance.

Lin Langtian awoke again to a violent jolting that made his bones feel as if they were coming apart.

The pain drove all drowsiness from his mind, and he forced his eyes open.

Above him was a large canopy. He brushed his fingers lightly over the surface supporting his body.

A sweep of his gaze told him where he was—in a carriage.

So he had been found in the grass and picked up by passersby?

Looking down at himself, he saw that the blood had been wiped from his body and his ripped green robe had been removed.

He now wore only a coarse linen garment.

He stared at his new clothing for a moment. It seemed he had truly run into a good Samaritan who had saved him and even changed his clothes.

As he pondered this, the curtain was suddenly lifted. Blinding light poured in, and a somewhat fat, middle‑aged man appeared in his sight.

Seeing him awake, the plump man smiled, his manner a bit simple and honest. "You're awake, little brother?"

Lin Langtian let his gaze pass over the man. Though his injuries had left his yuan power all but empty, his spiritual power remained as vast as ever.

The Great Thousand World had no yuan power, but it did not reject his spiritual power, so he could still use it freely.

With a glance, he saw that this man had not yet reached the Supreme Realm. As for his exact level, Lin Langtian was not sure; the cultivation system of the Great Thousand World differed from that of the Tianxuan Continent, and his memories of the ranks below Supreme were vague at best.

Even so, this man's strength would have rivaled a Samsara expert back home—a solid cultivation.

"Hehe, our caravan found you in a patch of grass in the Beast Forest. From your injuries, we didn't think you'd make it, but you actually woke up after all."

The fat man chuckled and went on, "My name is Song Jiang, a steward of the Song Clan from Beiling City. I happened to have business that took me through the Beast Forest, and that's where we found you.

"You're lucky. Packs of hyenas roam that forest all the time. If they'd come across you first, you would've been nothing but bones by now."

"Thank you for saving me, Brother Song Jiang. My name is Lin Langtian," Lin Langtian said gratefully.

Given another day or two, he might have slowly regained enough strength to summon the Black Corpse Devourer to guard him.

But no one could guarantee something wouldn't happen during that time. Song Jiang had indeed done him a life‑saving favor.

"It's nothing. When traveling, one helps where one can," Song Jiang said with a laugh. "It never hurts.

"In any case, this is all I can do. I have no way to treat your injuries. Once we reach Beiling City, you can find an apothecary to look you over.

"Of course, hiring a healer takes no small amount of Supreme Spirit Liquid. Ordinary folk couldn't dream of it. If you're short on money, I can lend you some. Might as well help to the end."

Lin Langtian smiled at the man's kindness.

His wounds, though serious, were nothing new to him. Given time, his body alone would see them healed.

"By the way, Brother Song Jiang, may I ask—is this the Great Thousand World?" Lin Langtian hesitated a moment, then asked.

"Yes, this is the Qiankun Continent of the Great Thousand World," Song Jiang nodded, then blinked. "You're not from here, Brother Langtian? You came from a lower plane?"

Lin Langtian nodded and did not conceal the truth, sketching out how he had come from a lower plane and been caught in a spatial storm.

He then probed his memory for any mention of the Qiankun Continent, but found nothing.

He wasn't surprised. The Great Thousand World was boundless; though there were only ten central supercontinents, the number of medium and small continents numbered in the thousands.

The lands mentioned in the story he remembered were only a drop in the bucket. It was perfectly normal for him not to recognize this Qiankun Continent.

"So you ran into a spatial storm. No wonder you're so badly hurt. Still, you're lucky to be alive. Few escape once they meet a spatial storm in the void.

"Our Song Clan once lost an entire escort squad that way. My uncle was the one leading it," Song Jiang said with a shudder.

He gave Lin Langtian another astonished look.

In the eyes of Great Thousand World natives, lower planes were backwaters—weak and impoverished. Very few ever broke their planar shackles to reach this level.

For all Song Jiang's travels, Lin Langtian was the first lower‑plane native he had seen.

Even so, his surprise faded quickly. In the end, Lin Langtian was just another lucky survivor from a lesser realm.

After chatting a bit longer, Song Jiang excused himself and left on other business.

Now that he understood the basics of this Qiankun Continent, Lin Langtian did not rush to focus inward. Instead, he decided to take a look outside.

He pushed aside the curtain, and a scene of bustling activity greeted him: people busied themselves pitching tents on flat ground, surrounded by lush forest.

The workers around the carriage stole glances at him now and then, their eyes filled mostly with pity.

They had clearly already heard that he came from a lower plane and was so gravely injured he might never cultivate again.

He merely regarded them with calm indifference, his gaze sweeping over the camp—and then pausing in mild surprise.

Most of those moving about were young people. Many carried an air of quiet arrogance on their faces, but the power within them was undeniable, rivaling the leaders of the eight great super sects of the Eastern Xuan Region back home.

"The Great Thousand World indeed… The young generation of a random clan can already match the top experts of the Tianxuan Continent," Lin Langtian murmured, unable to keep a faint excitement from his voice.

The Great Thousand World would be his new starting point—and the forge that would temper him into something far greater.

Creak.

As he pondered this, the door of a nearby luxurious carriage swung open. A long, shapely leg stepped into view.

Lin Langtian blinked, his gaze drifting upward. He had not expected the owner of the caravan to be so young and beautiful.

Her features were exquisite, her skin like snow. Tall and slender, she wore a tight black outfit that showed off a full, curvaceous figure, lending her a certain enticing allure.

Only the faint coolness in her expression, and the stern edge in her gaze, tempered that beauty.

The moment she appeared, all eyes turned to her. Some burned with ordinary admiration, but most carried a thread of awe.

She descended from the carriage, her gaze sweeping across the camp. Every person she looked at straightened up and busied themselves as if caught slacking.

The scene gave Lin Langtian a clear sense of the authority she held here.

As he studied her, the black‑clad woman's gaze fell on him. Her brows drew together as she approached at a measured pace.

A pair of long, graceful legs came to a stop before him. Her voice, cool and clear, drifted down. "You're the one Steward Song Jiang saved on the road, aren't you?"

"Yes," Lin Langtian nodded, clasping his hands to her despite the pallor of his face. "My name is Lin Langtian."

Seeing how weak he looked, her brows furrowed deeper. "I don't know how you got from a lower plane to the Great Thousand World," she said. "But since you ran into the Song Clan, you can count it as fate.

"However, our clan has no intention of feeding freeloaders. Once your injuries improve, you'll need to work for the Song Clan in return."

Lin Langtian blinked, then nodded without hesitation.

They had saved his life; repaying them with a bit of work was hardly too much. As the Heavenly Ancestor, he had always believed in repaying both kindness and enmity in full.

Seeing his ready agreement, her expression softened slightly. She tossed him a small object and said:

"My name is Song Yanfei. I'm in charge of the caravan. If you need anything, you can come to me. If you perform well on this trip, I may arrange for you to join the Song Clan's guards once we reach Beiling City.

"The Song Clan of Beiling may not be a great noble house, but it's a place you can put down roots. This is a healing medicine that should help a bit with your wounds. Once we're back in the city, you can find an apothecary for something more suitable."

With that, Song Yanfei walked past him and disappeared into one of the tents.

Lin Langtian caught the jade bottle and smiled faintly.

She might be stern and a bit cold on the surface, but she clearly had a good heart. No wonder her people respected her so much.

He wondered what sort of place the Beiling Song Clan was—and what this entire Qiankun Continent would be like…
