Perhaps! They had known what to do long ago, perhaps they had known what they were sacrificing for all along, perhaps! They had known precisely what they needed to achieve to gain all of this.
Since they have obtained these things, they can't do anything else; since they have gotten what they want, they can't get more. Whatever they choose to do is their own business, unrelated to others; whatever they choose to do is something they deserve, with no demands from others.
