The next morning, in the Senju compound;
Naruto's eyes opened in his dark room. Even though the curtains were open, it was so early that there was no light from the eastern horizon.
Getting off his bed, Naruto did some fast stretching and went to wash up. Returning to his room, Naruto put on his Jonin attire and his flak jacket before strapping Yamato to his back.
After his two days off, he is now returning to his ANBU duties.
As he left his room and closed the door, he walked through the hall in practiced silence. He reached for his mother's door and opened it silently. In the darkness, he could clearly see his mother sleeping soundly. He mentally chuckled upon seeing her so relaxed and not waking up anytime soon. Yesterday was the first time she drank a lot in ages. While she wasn't drunk by the end, she was definitely quite buzzed, which led her to immediately fall asleep on the couch when they returned home.
To Naruto, his mother looked adorable when she slept with a content look on her face. Even more so when he carried her in a princess carry to her bed while she seemed to mumble in her deep sleep.
'You are the only one able to call her that. I am sure she will send anyone else to the hospital if they call her adorable.' Kurumi's voice came from his mindscape, making him mentally chuckle.
'Well, as his son, I am allowed to tease her, especially when it's true.' Naruto said as he left his mother's room and closed the door.
'They wouldn't call her adorable, and you know it.' Kurumi said with a chuckle.
'Oh, then I have no problem adding bodies to the cemetery if they try something slick, especially a certain white-haired pervert.' Naruto replied with a dangerous glint in his eyes as he moved down the hall.
As Naruto checked on Shizune and Akari, he could hear Kurumi mumble something about him being a mama's boy, which he chose to ignore.
He finally reached the girls' room. A spacious room that Mito and Karin chose to share. As he silently opened the door and entered the room, his eyes softened, and a warm smile appeared on his face as he saw the two girls sleeping soundly in their individual beds.
Seeing the deep sleep Mito and Karin were in, he didn't disturb them. He silently took two 100-ryo notes from his belt and set them near their clothing for the day. Each money note had a note that was attached to it, and he set one on each of the girls' clothing.
Each note read:

Looking at his sisters one last time, he gave them a subtle kiss on the forehead before leaving the room and closing the door.
He walked down the hall before he disappeared in a sudden red flash. Leaving the Senju compound and instantly reaching his destination, the Anbu headquarters locker rooms, without anyone knowing he was there or that he had arrived.

In the Anbu headquarters' main training grounds;
Clang x2
Whoosh
Thud x4
Multiple teams stood at the edges of the training ground, silently watching the spar that was happening.
Normally, not many would focus on a spar that was happening, but the spar that was going on right now was one to be witnessed. The speed, the technique, Kenjutsu, shurikenjutsu, and the rhythm are all at high to elite jonin standards. Both operatives sparring are ones with bird masks with different colors and patterns
The Anbu operatives are observing what is happening, with some concentrating in hopes of learning something.
Though some looked at this with amazement and awe that was hidden behind their masks. Most of them were either an Anbu recruit or an Anbu trainee.
"Should they be in the meeting with Hawk-taicho?" An Anbu recruit said to his team's vice-captain.
"All available team captains are already in the meeting with the Anbu commander," the vice-captain replied, surprising the recruit.
"Then are they vice captains?" the recruit asked, intrigued
"Phoenix is the vice captain of Team Shi. Raven isn't; she is the final member of Team Shi," the vice captain said.
The Anbu recruit had a look of astonishment on his face behind his mask. He had heard whispers and small talk about Team Shi since he joined.
The Anbu heavy hitters
A team that had a requirement for its members to have absurd chakra reserves by normal standards. And that was the least of the requirements.
If the two sparring partners are the team members and are this skilled and proficient, who is their team captain?
While the spar continued, team captains started to appear and approached their teams.
"Phoenix, Raven." A calm, even, deep voice was heard. Even though it wasn't loud, it was heard over the sound of the spar as Phoenix and Raven paused what they were doing and looked in the direction from where the voice came, along with multiple other Anbu operatives who were watching their spar.
There, standing almost concealed by the shadows of the lightly lit grounds, was an Anbu operative who was tall by Shinobi standards, with long hair as dark as a moonless night gathered behind his head and a dragon mask that sent small chills to the recruits and trainees.
"We are leaving; we have a mission to do," the dragon-masked Anbu said before turning around and leaving.
The next moment, Phenoix and Raven had already left the training ground and were following him out.
"That is Ryuu. The Butaicho of Team Shi. Don't get on his bad side," the vice captain said, surprising the recruit.
"Is he like..... trouble?" The recruit asked in a low voice
"What??!! No..." the vice captain said with slight astonishment
"That is not what she meant, Badger." The recruit, now named Badger, turned to look at his team captain, who had just arrived.
"While Ryuu is one of the most potent, deadly, and feared Anbu operatives, he isn't what you thought he was. To us, he is one of the most dependable ones we seek. What Mouse meant is that Ryuu is also the chief medic and doctor of the Anbu, so don't get on his bad side." Tiger, the team captain, said, making Badger realize what he meant.
"Yeah, got it," Badger said.
They were just looking out for him. Telling him not to give a bad impression or do something that would put him on Ryuu's bad side. Nothing good comes from being on the bad list of the main doctor of the Anbu.
"Let's move. We have a mission too," Tiger said before disappearing in a body flicker, followed by his team.
