In an unknown location far away from vie de marli, inside a dark and shady room a blonde woman dressed a black business suit stood in front of a conspiracy board with a light frown on her face. The board in front of her consisted of pictures, newspaper articles and notes linked together by a red thread.
However, the strangest thing was that all these newspapers and articles were all demonic incidents that Naruto was involved in. Incidents that the media and governments claimed to be nothing than a terrorist attack.
While the lady was busy going through the conspiracy board, the door to the room opened and a very familiar face walked in. Rufus looked at the back of the woman standing behind the desk with a proud and respectful look on his face. Long gone was the young lady who had once been hunted and tormented by a demon, now in her place was a hunter.
After the incident with the demon and that mysterious demon hunter, she was inspired and made it her life goal to hunt demons and protect the innocent like a guardian angel. From her investigations she knew that a lot of people were also experiencing the same demonic incident she went through, unfortunately they don't have anyone to save them. She aimed to be that someone that is why she chose to build this demon hunting organization.
At first her parents refused both because she is their only child and that they knew how dangerous the path she is choosing was. But after seeing her determination and unwillingness to give up they decided to support her with all they had. On the condition that Rufus must follow her to protect her.
And like a fish returning to the sea Elena dove into the world of the occult, reading every book and article she could find about the supernatural. She inhaled everything like a whale. They even went as far as to Visit strange and hunted places. Not even graveyards were spared.
After months of training she is now proficient in both armed and unharmed combat, even he couldn't win in a one-on-one fight against her. She has changed in more ways than one, even he who had witnessed the entire process of the change still find it hard to believe.
Would her parents still recognize as their daughter who left home to chase the supernatural? Rufus shook his head with a fond smile on his face. He doubted it. Knowing them, they'd freak out first before anything else.
"Lady Elena" Rufus greeted with a short bow before placing the documents in his hands on the desk and stood patiently behind her. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long.
"What do you think about this Rufus?" Elena asked without taking her eyes off the conspiracy board. Nobody could tell what she was thinking.
"This?" Rufus walked to her side to get a better view of the conspiracy board. His eyes moving from one news article and picture to another, not lingering for more than a few seconds. "If you are asking me if it has something to do with him, then I believe you already know the answer to that question"
"That's right." Elena nodded" But this.." She pointed to the picture of a black-haired lady carrying a modified bazooka on her back. The lady in the picture could give any model a run for their money, but her most distinctive feature is her heterochromia eyes, one red while the other one is bluish-green.
"She is also a demon hunter. And from what I have found out, she is a very well-known figure in the supernatural world. I was fortunate enough to see her in action during one of my investigation, and she completely blew my mind. They called her lady. I believe that is a codename she uses. There is also her"
Elena pointed at a different picture. The lady in this one has a long pale blonde hair and wore full black leather.
"Trish?" Rufus raised a quizzical brow. "Isn't that the lady you said you saw in Darron City? The lady you said could control yellow lightning?"
Elena had once told him of her encounter with Trish during one of her demon investigations. From the way Elena described her he could swear that Trish definitely wasn't your regular human being. What the hell was he even talking about? Anyone who could hunt and kill demons, definitely can't be normal.
"Yes." Elena nodded, the frown on her face deepened. "I get the feeling that they are all connected to each other one way or the other. You remembered that when Naruto first came to our mansion it was through an agent.
"Yes, I remembered that. The person your dad spoke to at that time was a lady"
"Then could it have been one of them"
"I can't say. You might be right but at the same time it could have been someone else" Rufus sighed. He trusted Elena's deduction skills and intellect when it comes to this kind of stuff but at the same time they could not rule out the possibility that they could be wrong.
"You are right, but that also proves my point that they are people in charge of them. People that cover up and clean up after them." Elena replied not taking offence to Rufus words. Apart from her parents the only other person she trusted completely is Rufus.
Rufus settled into a thoughtful pose before something clicked in his mind. "That's right, you went to meet Naruto, right? Did you see him?"
Elena shook her head. "No. I was too late. He was already gone by the time I got there"
She turned away from the conspiracy board and took a seat, gesturing for Rufus to do the same.
"So what did you find out?"
"Here" Rufus pushed the folder on the desk to her. "All the information I managed to gather are in there. Elena looked at the word written on the folder and frowned.
"Dante?"
"Yes." Rufus nodded. "He is a very infamous investigator operating in Redgrave city. Most importantly, he owns a small business by the name of devil may cry."
"Devil may cry?" Elena frowned as she flipped through the folder. But the more she read the more astonished she become. After going through the whole folder she came to a single conclusion, this man was a walking disaster. Wherever he goes something bad was destined to happen.
"Yes. Apparently, he is the local investigator in Redgrave city and only takes job from people who has the so-called password."
"Password?" Elena perked up. "Is he hiding the existence of demons from the public?"
"Yes, I believe so. But the thing is that he is the very first demon investigator to appear, and seems has connections to the others one way or another. Also i remembered that back then your dad was also asked to provide a password before they could help. So the lady from back then was definitely related to this Dante."
Elena nodded. She had seen the pictures of him interacting with the former two ladies in the folder. If he was already acquainted with the ladies then he must also be with Naruto. After a;; they were few people in this demon hunter business so the chances of them knowing each other is very high.
"Where is this Dante right now?"
"From what I heard he was last seen on a boat heading to an island called vie de marli.
"Vie de marli?" Elena shook her head with a small smile, looks likes the media is going to get busy real soon. She suddenly remembered something and turned to look at Rufus.
"Oh right what about Lin Ming?" Elena asked as she placed folder inside her desk drawer.
Rufus smiled at the mention of the name. Lin Ming is the name of the Chinese restaurant owner's daughter. The one who was saved by Naruto from the jaws of a demon. After the incident she and Elena had bonded. When she heard that Elena was leaving to hunt the supernatural, she begged to follow. Now that girl had become a monster.
"She went to investigate the hunted mansion people have been talking about, she should be back soon."

On the other side of the city in a deserted street a dark and conspicuous mansion stood out among all the buildings. It looked like a 1900s mansion. This was the so called rumored hunted mansion. It is said that once you enter the mansion you can never leave. Right now, inside that same mansion a huge battle was taking place.
Inside a young Asian looking lady who appears to be in her late teen had a red hilt katana by her side. She was wearing a purple qipao with split on both side and a black legging with a black pouch tied to her hip. Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail. She was currently engaged in battle with some creatures that looked like they came out of a child's worst nightmare. But there was no fear in her eyes as she faced these five grotesque creatures. She grabbed the hilt of her sword and performed a quick strike, faster than the naked eyes could follow, cutting off the arm of a demon that had tried to attack her from the side. The demon screeched in pain before a kick to the face sent it flying.
Like a well-oiled machine her m=body moved fluidly through the combined attack of two other demons. Her katana cut an arc as she twirled around like a ballet. The blade cut through the necks of the two demons instantly turning them to ashes. She reached into her pouch and threw three shuriken at another demon nailing it head, neck and heart. The demon exploded spraying ash everywhere.
She was as graceful as a fairy.
She charged at the next demon, her blade a furry of attacks not giving the demon time to react. All it could do was stand there and take the attack like a training dummy.
After what felt like forever for the demon Lin Ming suddenly stopped, turned around and sheath her sword. Immediately it clicked the demon burst into ashes.
"Guess the rumors were true" Lin Ming sighed as she made her way to the entrance. Once she reached the door she suddenly stopped and threw a shuriken at a demon hiding in a corner hitting it in the forehead. The shuriken buried itself deep into it forehead killing it instantly.
"You didn't think I forgot about you, did you?" Lin Ming scoffed as she walked out of the building. The once rowdy mansion has now gone quiet. Unfortunately, no one was present to witness the beautiful battle that had just taken place.
She came here to investigate the mysterious disappearance of people that has been happening around here for the past few weeks now. She was even familiar with some of the people that went missing. Unfortunately, she was too late.
After Leaving her city with Elena she went on to learn swordplay and the art of shuriken throw. That was the condition Elena gave her. Since they would be hunting demons, no one would have the time to babysit her.
Long gone was the girl that was traumatized and almost killed by a demon. Now if the same demon showed itself in front of her right now, she wouldn't even blink before shredding it into pieces.
At that moment the alarm on her phone went off and as she picked it up her heart skipped a eat
"Shit I still have class to attend to" She immediately ran towards her lady's bike and zoomed off. Although she is now a demon hunter, she is still an undergraduate who needs to attend classes in order to pass. If Elena found out she was definitely going to get chewed out.
Strange world we live in. A girl who was not afraid of demons is actually scared of missing class.
