Cherreads

Chapter 406 - Chapter 406

It wasn't until half of the arena floor caved in when Equan finally got to meet the most beautiful woman in Vallmora.

"Hey..." Equan said with a subtle wave... Blue lightning cackling along his black armor.

Lizzy made a pouty face... "You're an archer?" She asked in disappointment.

That's when Equan simply removed his mask, tossing it aside with a sly chuckle.

"Huh?" Lizzy gasped in stunned confusion.

Somewhere far above, Kaylynn was screaming in outrage at his idiocy.

However, Equan felt only bliss. "My name is Equan... And I was wondering you wanted to place a wager on this fight?" He grinned

Lizzy raised an eyebrow in confusion, the sawblade on her shoulder speeding up its rotation ten-fold.

"If I win... You get the honor of going to dinner with me." Equan suggested, with the flash of his teeth.

Lizzy tilted her head with a curious grin.

"What's in it for me?" She asked, making a mocking expression with her lips.

Equan grit his teeth and put his thoughts together mindfully.

"Anything." He said instantly.

Lizzy nodded with a big smile.

"Sure then! Why not! Now let's fight!" She said it all so fast, that Equan was truly caught off guard when one of her saw blades were spinning straight at his throat.

Equan bent back, avoiding the disk and flipping backwards behind it, landing with the drawing of his bow.

"Straight to the point... I like that..." He grinned, summoning lightning into his bow like a battery.

Lizzy shot forward, blood spilling as large sawblades formed on her ankles... Turning into wheels as she lowered her body and prepared to attack.

Equan leaped over, drawing his bow again, this time with already stored energy.

He laughed.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A scattershot... Demolishing the sands below his propelled position, looking down at Lizzy who took the energy head on... Tanking it as if it were a mere punch to the shoulder...

He spun and landed with elegance, knocking another arrow and narrowing his vision...

Lizzy frowned...

"But like, Archers are always so tactical and laid back... They never know how to GET CRAZY!" She roared, several sawblades extending out from each other as they were on course for Equan's exact position.

Equan gasped, launching his arrow at her as a mere bluff and throwing himself to the ground, lying prone as the sawblades bit into the stone wall beside him.

"Smart puppy!" She clasped her hands... Forming a sawblade between them and charging at Equan, getting into truly close quarters with him this time...

He grinned.

She grinned.

"Can't parry though!" She yelled, jabbing her handheld sawblade straight into Equan's chest... Or that is what she thought would happen.

Trembling... Equan held back the sawblade with a mere spectral arrow... Held between both of his hands as it threatened shattered from the raw force of a Paladin.

"You interest Lizzy..." She tilted her head, not even being bothered by the fact that Equan had dashed around her, firing an arrow into her shoulder...

She turned...

"Do you want to see one of my tricks?" She smiled, outstretching her arms.

Equan shrugged, bracing himself in a standstill position.

Then he thought about for a moment and smiled.

"Bring it on..."

A maelstrom of sawblades followed... All ripping free from Lizzy's flesh and storming towards Equan like hail...

He could only hear Lizzy screaming in delightful agony as his mind raced for a way to evade the incoming onslaught...

"Fine..." He let his bow vanish into thin air... Electricity radiating off of his armor as he shuffled his feet in the face of what was too come.

His feet began to get faster... Blue energy radiating off of his boots like a body of water...

'Body of water... Water... How the hell do people actually use these weird ass methods?!' Equan screamed internally, dashing straight at the storm of sawblades as he let his body go completely loose...

'Relax...'

'Relax...'

'HOLY SHIT! HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO RELAX!'

Equan was soaring and spinning straight through the eye of the storm... Some of the sawblades would bite him, but for the most part he was able to evade head on collisions with any of the sawblades...

His body flipped and spun as it landed with imbalance on the edge of the tallest layer of sand.

Blood was spilling from the rips in his armor... Ugly gashes that would certainly leave uglier scars.

Equan grimaced.

'Maybe this was a bad idea...' He thought, watching as Lizzy clapped with energetic joy.

"Amazing!" Her eyes were lit up like fireworks... Completely enchanted by the courage of Equan...

Then dread instilled him.

He watched in horror as the storm of sawblades stopped... And began their return home... Straight towards Equan...

"You have got to be kidding me..." He was simply starstruck... Standing in awe at the sight of the terrible storm dead set on skinning him alive.

After a few moments of revisiting past memories... Equan chuckled, causing Lizzy to tilt her head.

"But it means I can take you with me..." He grinned... Summoning a sword made of pure lightning in his right hand... Keeping his bow held within his left...

"Woah! So many plot twists!" Lizzy gasped in complete glee.

Then he shot forward like a lightning bolt, forcing Lizzy to defend with her duel wielded sawblades...

They clashed in unison... Ripping and tearing at each other's flesh in the inevitable path of Lizzy's storm of death...

However... For some strange reason... Neither could be happier...
