Barry waved his hands quickly, almost too eagerly, trying to look understanding. "No, no, please don't apologize! It's completely okay. You must have been really exhausted recently."
"I've seen all the news coverage about your big deal in Mexico — those negotiations looked brutal. Dealing with all those aggressive clients and long hours… no wonder you needed to unwind a little. Kate and I completely understand. She was just trying to help you to your room, that's all."
