Nine minutes across seven vehicles meant no single person was going to outrun the problem. Vell put the chain on the shared slate rather than describing it, since four people reading one map argue less than four people listening to one voice.
The charge sat in the third vehicle and fed outward through cable runs the crews had used for power. Cutting any single run collapsed that vehicle's charge early, which is how the Directorate had built every other trap Blackforge had opened.
"Same architecture as the cages," Yenna said, recognizing it before he finished marking the runs.
"Same architecture as your anchor," Vell answered, "which is the only reason we have nine minutes instead of none."
He divided the work in eleven seconds and gave nobody a job outside what they already did. That was the entire method, since a plan built on people performing unfamiliar roles is a plan that fails at the third minute.
