Chapter 572 - Chapter 572: Balance!!

Hearing Entity 303's metaphor, which was both reasonable and completely unexpected, Rookie couldn't hold it in anymore. He couldn't help but look at Null.

Rookie had originally thought that after hearing those words, Null would show at least some kind of reaction. But unexpectedly, his face remained completely calm, without the slightest ripple.

Even though he was the person involved, at this moment he looked like an outsider… no, even an outsider watching would have some kind of reaction, but right now he just stood there like a wooden post.

Seeing this, Rookie was completely puzzled. Even a normal person, hearing Entity 303's description, might not get angry, but at least would argue back a little.

Null was just too calm. If it weren't for the fact that Little Bug wouldn't lie, Rookie would never have believed the image of Null from before that Little Bug described.

Thinking this, Rookie couldn't help but agree with Entity 303. "It really is a bit too… umm, calm. If you told me he's gone off to become a monk now, I'd believe it."

As soon as he said it, Rookie immediately regretted it. Just now he had only responded out of habit to agree with Entity 303, but after the words left his mouth, he realized it didn't seem appropriate.

Entity 303 could tease Null like that because they were close. Even if Entity 303 spoke without thinking, Null wouldn't blame him. After all, they were already like family and wouldn't care about such small things.

But Rookie was different. He wasn't familiar with Null. For him to joke like that was actually a bit rude.

Thinking of this, Rookie quickly gave Entity 303 a look, then glanced at Null.

The understanding between Entity 303 and Rookie went without saying. Without needing words, he knew what Rookie meant.

He smiled at Rookie and shook his head. "We're not that particular. We don't care about this kind of thing."

After saying that, Entity 303 glanced at Null and continued, "He's not the type to force himself to endure things. If he's unhappy, he won't hide it."

Hearing this, Rookie finally let out a sigh of relief.

Seeing this, the Dread Lord also smiled and reassured Rookie, "This silent jar isn't unwilling to talk, he's just bad with words and can't explain it clearly."

After saying this, the Dread Lord glanced at Null, then looked back at Rookie. "Even though I joined later and never saw what he was like before, I roughly understand what he went through."

At this point, the Dread Lord looked at everyone. "When Little Bug mentioned earlier that Null once had killing intent toward him, you all looked pretty surprised."

"Looks like even you guys can't believe that Null used to have such heavy hostility, right?"

Hearing the Dread Lord's words, everyone nodded.

"When I first learned he was My King's dark side… I honestly couldn't believe it. Other than his appearance… where exactly was the darkness?"

"To be honest… I thought the same back then. I even wondered if my understanding of a dark side was off…"

"You could say everyone had the same understanding of what a dark side should be, but Null completely overturned that perception."

Hearing everyone's words, the Dread Lord shook his head helplessly and gave a bitter smile, "Do you know why I'm always butting heads with this silent jar?"

As soon as he said that, Entity 303 immediately raised his hand, "Me, me! I know this one!"

"You both use the power of fear, so you're competitors. Of course you don't like each other."

Hearing this, the Dread Lord smiled helplessly, "Yes, and no."

"You don't really understand how the power we use actually works. To you, it's no different from 303 using flames."

"But there's actually a fundamental difference between them."

"As for the power of fear… actually, Entity 303's earlier description wasn't too far off."

"The power of fear is pretty similar to resentment. It's a force formed by the accumulation of people's fear."

The Dread Lord let out a long sigh and patted his chest. "People like me who control this kind of power always have to be careful not to have our minds consumed by it…"

At this point, he looked at Null and spoke slowly, "Not to mention someone like him, who was born from that kind of power…"

"So the reason we clash isn't because we're competitors, but because of our nature."

As he said this, a trace of admiration clearly appeared in the Dread Lord's eyes as he looked at Null.

"The reason I say I roughly understand what he went through is because I know just how dangerous this kind of power is."

"So honestly, I truly admire this younger one. He must have gone through many hardships alone, things we can't even imagine, to become what we see today…"

"I may not know exactly what he experienced, but from what he just said about nature and true heart, we can glimpse a part of it."

"He is My King's dark side. His nature is exactly what you all just described in your understanding."

"Violent, jealous, selfish, hypocritical… he is the embodiment of all those negative traits."

"He was born because of that. That is his nature."

"When driven by his nature, he wouldn't respond positively to anything."

"Like how, at the beginning, he showed killing intent toward Little Bug… judging by Little Bug's personality, he was probably just playing with My King at the time."

"But in his eyes, Little Bug was offending My King, or rather offending himself. So he wanted to kill Little Bug."

At this point, the Dread Lord looked at Null again, only to find that their eyes met.

The surprised look in Null's eyes seemed to say, "How do you know that?"

The moment their gazes met, Null hurriedly looked away.

Seeing that there was no blame in Null's eyes, the Dread Lord finally felt completely at ease.

He took a deep breath and continued, "He just mentioned nature and true heart."

"His nature is evil. Pure evil."

"But his true heart is not like that."

"In the beginning, he probably hadn't realized his true heart… most likely, under My King's guidance, he found it."

"Finding your true heart isn't the hard part. The real difficulty is how to balance your nature and your true heart."

"There are two little figures living inside him. Evil is his nature, good is his true heart. These two are constantly in conflict every single moment."

"For even the most ordinary things that we see, for him, he has to weigh and balance them in his mind…"

At this point, everyone's expressions turned heavy. Seeing this, the Dread Lord smiled.

"For example, me saying all this right now. His nature probably wants to come over and strangle me immediately, but his true heart wants me to say it for him."

"So he really is incredible. Just being able to balance his nature and his true heart is already something I could never hope to achieve."
