Inaya was frozen in place, unsure of what to say as she stared back at Jest.
If this were before she reunited with Kent, she would have jumped into Jest's arms like a kid welcoming her father after being away for an entire week.
However, things were different now, so she hesitated.
Seeing this, Jest, or at least a strand of his supreme soul, smiled. "I suppose you have already reunited with my future incarnation, huh?"
Inaya furrowed her brow. "How did you know that?"
"Isn't that obvious? If you hadn't met my true self, you would have already jumped into my arms. After all, you wouldn't miss a chance to get close to me."
"You make it sound like I am obsessed with you." A chuckle escaped her lips.
"I am happy for you, Inaya. I know how we ended things wasn't the right way. However, I had to leave to ensure you didn't fall victim to my heart demon. I am not asking for forgiveness; however, you should know I am terribly sorry for leaving you."
