If there was ever a time that I felt more like a coward it was that very moment, knowing that I was discouraging Benecio not only because I was worried that he wasn't yet ready, but because I wasn't ready for Bucky to find out so soon. Even if Benecio didn't tell his family who he was dating, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure that we were suddenly spending so much time together after he came out of the closet.
I knew that hell would freeze over the day Bucky found out and if he could crack wood, who said my bones were any different. I still enjoyed life, I felt it would be extremely premature of me to head in that direction so quickly.
"Let's just get to know each other more," I pressed a teasing kiss to the tip of his nose which made him chuckle, "I'm still trying to figure out why you wear a gold ring on your second toe."
