Dove
The hammock was going to swallow me whole.
It was one of those big, woven ones, faded seafoam green with all the little tassels at the bottom that tickled at my ankles. It had been strung between two thick wooden pillars on the lower deck of the villa, right in front of the pool, and it swayed just slightly every time the wind pushed through from the beach. The villa itself was all dark wood, white walls and thatched roofs, open on all sides so the air just moved right through it. Upstairs there was another balcony with a bright pink hammock that Benecio said was his favorite because you could see the ocean from it, but down here, there were three of the green ones lined up in a row like they were waiting for people to pass out in them.
Which was what I was doing.
