(Sunday Night — Hinata's POV)
My phone buzzed again.
Another message from Kiyomi.
I was still sitting on my bed, the room dim except for the soft glow of my desk lamp. My video call with Asahi was still running, his face visible in the small corner of my screen as he leaned back in his chair.
I explained everything to Asahi.
How she panicked.
How she said she doesn't do love.
How she threatened to expose him if he didn't leave her alone.
Asahi stared at the screen for a moment.
Then he sighed.
Asahi: That must've hurt him.
I nodded.
Hinata: Yeah.
But then I added softly;
Hinata: And it destroyed her too.
My phone buzzed again.
A new message from Kiyomi.
"Kiyomi: Hinata…?"
She was waiting.
I quickly typed back.
"Hinata: I'm here."
Almost instantly, my phone began ringing.
Kiyomi was calling.
I glanced at Asahi.
Hinata: Hold on.
Then I answered.
Hinata: Kiyomi?
For a few seconds, there was nothing but silence.
Then I heard it.
A soft sniff.
She had been crying again.
Kiyomi: Hinata… (Her voice whispered through the speaker).
Hinata: I'm here (I said gently).
Another quiet sniff.
Kiyomi: I messed everything up.
I leaned back against my pillow.
Hinata: No you didn't.
Kiyomi: I did.
Her voice cracked.
Kiyomi: I said horrible things to him.
I closed my eyes for a moment.
Hinata: Kiyomi… you were scared.
Kiyomi: But I hurt him.
Her words came out quietly.
Kiyomi: And he didn't deserve that.
The room went silent again.
Even Asahi stayed quiet on the other side of the video call, listening without interrupting.
Finally, I spoke.
Hinata: Do you love him?
There was a long pause.
So long I thought the call had dropped.
Then Kiyomi whispered;
Kiyomi: I don't know.
I smiled faintly.
Hinata: That's the most honest answer you've given all weekend.
She gave a small, tired laugh. But it quickly faded.
Kiyomi: What do I do?
I stared at the ceiling.
Thinking.
Then slowly, a plan began forming in my mind.
First, Minato needed to calm down.
Second, Kiyomi needed time to understand her own feelings.
And third… these two idiots needed someone to push them toward the truth.
I sat up straighter.
Hinata: We're fixing this.
Kiyomi sniffed.
Kiyomi: What?
Hinata: You heard me.
Kiyomi: But how?
I glanced at Asahi through the screen.
He raised an eyebrow, clearly curious.
I smirked slightly.
Hinata: Leave that part to me.
Kiyomi sighed.
Kiyomi: You sound like a villain planning something.
I grinned.
Hinata: Not a villain.
I leaned forward slightly.
Hinata: A mastermind.
She laughed again.
A real laugh this time.
And hearing it made me feel relieved.
Hinata: Get some sleep (I told her gently). You've cried enough for one weekend.
Kiyomi: ...Okay.
Hinata: And Kiyomi?
Kiyomi: Yeah?
Hinata: Don't avoid him tomorrow.
Silence. Then a quiet answer.
Kiyomi: I'll try.
The call ended.
I placed my phone down.
Asahi immediately spoke.
Asahi: So… what's the plan, mastermind?
I leaned back and crossed my arms dramatically.
Hinata: Step one.
He waited.
Hinata: Make sure Minato doesn't do anything stupid.
Asahi nodded slowly.
Asahi: And step two?
I smirked.
Hinata: Make those two talk.
He chuckled.
Asahi: That sounds dangerous.
Hinata: Oh it is.
I grabbed my phone again.
Hinata: But it's also necessary.
Because one thing was certain.
If Kiyomi and Minato kept running away from this… the damage between them would only get worse.
And I wasn't about to let that happen.
Not on my watch.
