Author's Note
Hey guys,
Just wanted to give you a quick update. My laptop is currently under repair because the cooling fan needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, it's already been over a week, and the replacement fan for my laptop model still hasn't arrived or become available.
Because of this, I haven't been able to use my laptop, and I may have to go on a hiatus for a while until everything is fully repaired and back in working condition. I'm hoping it won't take much longer, but at the moment, I don't have an exact timeframe.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding. I really appreciate your support. Until then, take care, and I'll see you guys again soon.

A small ship drifted steadily over the calm blue sea, the sun warm on their backs as they finished their meal.
The earlier chaos faded into relaxed chatter — Lucy literally licking the last drops of ramen from her bowl, Selina humming softly while coiling the ropes, and Uta jotting down tune ideas in her notebook.
Ace perched high in the crow's nest, finishing her food while keeping watch.
Ash stretched at the wheel, the steady breeze brushing against his face. "Alright," he said, glancing at the horizon, "Shells Town should be a couple days away if the currents stay stable. But for now—"
He didn't get to finish.
Ace's voice cut through the calm. "Oi! Guys! Smoke on the right flank!"
Uta blinked. "Huh? Fire-Smoke?"
Ace narrowed her eyes. "Looks like it."
In one smooth motion, Ace's wings burst open from her back. She launched out of the crow's nest, shot upward for a better view, then swooped down and landed on deck. Her wings folded into her back as her feet hit wood.
Her expression was deadly serious.
"I saw a ship. A pirate ship," she said. "It's docked on a small island — maybe fifteen, twenty minutes out from here. The smoke's coming from there. I don't like the feeling."
Ash reacted instantly.
He spun the wheel. "Selina, Uta — furl the sails! Ace, grab the front line and pull us. We'll move faster with you dragging the boat."
Ace gave him a nod.
Lucy tossed her a thick rope tied to the bow. Ace caught it, wings unfurling.
"Hold on tight!" she warned.
Everyone grabbed onto something as Ace shot forward. The boat lurched violently — then surged across the sea like an arrow. Within minutes, the islands docks came into view.
Ash moved the boat into his inventory the moment they reached shallow water. The five of them landed on the shore same time, with their weapons already drawn.
Just in time. A terrified scream echoed.
Lucy vanished immediately using Soru — reappearing instantly between a young girl and a pirate swinging a saber. Lucy used Tekkai at the exact moment she stood between them.
CLANG—CRACK!
The blade shattered against her arm.
The broken blade spun through the air and landed at the feet of a man who stood as if he is some on important— the infamous Crescent-Moon Gyari.
He stood tall, his crescent-shaped mustache, which extends in two thin crescent-shaped strips beyond his angular face wearing moon-themed armor. His worn an epaulette long coat and a bicorne hat the Jolly Roger of his pirate crew.
He and his crew looked at Lucy with their eyes widened in shock and surprise.
Then his narrowed in irritation and anger.
Gyari stepped forward, boots grinding into the dirt, his men forming a rough circle behind him. He lifted his chin, glaring down at Lucy with dark irritation.
"GIRL… you dare to inte—"
But he didn't finish.
Because Lucy barely glanced at him — just tilted her head, blinked once in boredom — and turned her attention fully to the little girl behind her.
"You, okay?" she asked, completely ignoring Gyari as she pulled a basic first-aid kit from her inventory bag.
Gyari twitched. "H-Hey! I was talking to you, brat—!!"
Lucy didn't even look his way. She gently cleaned the girl's scraped elbow, wrapped a bandage, and smiled softly.
"There. You're all safe and good now."
Gyari stomped the ground, furious. "You insolent brat! To ignore ME — Crescent-Moon Gyari —"
Lucy finally turned her head slowly, face blank. "You sure are loud, weird mustache guy."
A vein popped on Gyari's forehead. "LOUD!? WEIRD…MUSTACHE!? Why you—"
WHAM!
Lucy vanished with Soru and punched him mid-sentence straight in the face — so hard he spun like a wheel and flew all the way back toward the docks where his ship was moored.
His crew stood frozen in wide-eyed shock.
Lucy turned to them and raised her fist. "Anyone else?"
They tripped over each other backing away. A thin pirate stammered, "Y-You won't get away with this! We'll be back, brat!!"
Then they ran — scrambling toward the docks to find their captain.
A moment later Ash, Ace, Uta, and Selina arrived, walking casually. A few fleeing pirates even bumped into them, but none of the four cared.
Ash smirked. The moment he spotted Gyari's Jolly Roger earlier, he knew exactly what was happening and what is the situation. So, he knew Lucy can easily take care of it.
Uta snorted. "You didn't even let him finish talking."
Lucy puffed her cheeks. "He was too noisy! Anyway — what took you guys so long?"
Ace raised a brow. "You took off first, idiot."
Lucy squinted at her. "Don't yell at me for you being a slowpoke."
Ace's eye twitched. "What did you call me?"
Lucy stuck her tongue out. "Sloooow-poooooke."
That was it.
Ace lunged at her, and the two immediately fell into their usual brawl. Selina and Uta sighed with amused smiles. Ash didn't even bother stopping them.
An old men who seemed like the chief steps forwards, "Thank you for helping us. May I know who you are?"
Lucy straight out replied even stopping her brawl in the middle, "Oh. We're pirates. We just formed our crew today."
Silence filled the air then huge gasps of fear from all the villagers.
Ace grabs her neck strangles her, "Idiot don't go saying that. Read the situation."
Lucy retaliates by pulling Ace's cheeks, "But it's the truth."
Just then—
shing—
Without looking, Ash raised two fingers and caught a sword mid-swing. He slowly turned left.
A tall, slim girl stood there — bruised, exhausted, eyes sharp with fear and determination.
Shiruku.
Ash had already checked her with Observe. He knew exactly who she was.
Selina immediately raised her staff behind him, but Ash waved her down while still holding the sword between two fingers.
"Hey," he said gently to Shiruku, "you might want to lower that. It's sharp, you know… I'd hate for it to actually kill me."
Every villager shouted at once: "YOU JUST STOPPED IT WITH TWO FINGERS!"
Ash ignored them, keeping his eyes on Shiruku. "We're not here to hurt anyone. Didn't my partner just save the little girl? We're good guys."
Shiruku trembled slightly but didn't step back. Her gaze flicked from Lucy… to Ash… then to the others — fear and stubborn determination mixed in her expression.
Shiruku's grip did not loosen on her sword, nor did her stance waver. Her breathing was shaky, but her glare was sharp.
"Stay… stay away from the village," she warned, voice cracking.
Ash raised both hands calmly. "Hey, easy. I said we're not your enemies. We saw smoke and thought there was trouble, so we came to help."
Shiruku tried to take a step forward — but her knees suddenly buckled.
Selina instinctively reached out. "Careful!"
Shiruku jerked away stubbornly. "I—I'm fine. I don't need help from some pirate."
Lucy muttered immediately, "Hey, that was rude…"
Ash nodded lightly. "Yeah, she's right. We're peace-main pirates, you know."
The village headman blinked. "P-Peace-main? What's… that?"
Ash shrugged casually. "Simple. There are pirates who pillage, burn, destroy — violent types. And then there are pirates like us — the ones who fight those bastards and like traveling and adventure more than hurting people."
He glanced around at the villagers, then back to Shiruku.
"So, relax, okay? We're not here to cause trouble. Anyway… why is Crescent-Moon Gyari in this area? We didn't hear anything about him being nearby."
The headman answered with a tired sigh. "He recently destroyed two Marine ships. The Marines are trying to hide the news because it makes them look… weak. But rumors spread. He's been roaming these waters for days."
Ash nodded slowly — then heard Shiruku whispering something faintly.
Her sword slipped from her fingers. "I… I can't fall now… I have to protect… the village…"
And she collapsed.
Selina caught her instantly. "Got her!"
Uta turned sharply toward the headman. "Don't just stand there! Where's your medic place?"
"R-Right! This way!" he stammered, panicking.
Selina carried Shiruku to the clinic. The doctor rushed forward, but Ace raised an arm to stop him.
"Wait."
The doctor froze, "Bu-But —"
Ash stepped past her closing the curtain, pulling a small vial and pill from his inventory. "I've got this."
Selina laid Shiruku gently on the bed. Ash fed her the basic healing potion and a healing pill — her bruises faded instantly, though exhaustion kept her unconscious.
The five stepped outside quietly, letting her rest.
Soon after, they started tending to the rest of the villagers — patching up injuries, calming frightened kids, checking damages.
After a while, a nervous villager approached Ash, "You… you said you came to help, right? they… they raided our village," the man whispered. "T-They took our supplies and money. Please… can you help us?"
Before Ash answered, Ace waved her hand. "Of course. Don't bow — it's annoying," she said bluntly. "We help because we want to. That's it."
Ash smiled faintly. "But first… everyone must be hungry, right? Let's fix that. Shall we?"
He opened his inventory — pots, pans, vegetables, spices, meat, utensils — everything appeared as if summoned from thin air.
The villagers gasped.
Uta and Selina helped him cook, while Ace and — shockingly — Lucy helped distribute food.
Kids gathered around Ash, tugging at him.
"Mister! How did you make stuff appear like that!?"
"Was that magic!?"
"Can you do it again?!"
Ash chuckled and performed little tricks, using his inventory or even Rokushiki to amuse them without revealing too much.
Meanwhile, Ace, Selina, Uta, and Lucy mingled with the villagers. They even learned about Shiruku and her past — how she was abandoned by the pirate crew as a baby, and how the villagers took her in and treated her like family and few other things about her and their village.
Hearing that, the entire crew exchanged a look — the same thought forming silently.
A soft creak came from the clinic door.
Shiruku stepped out, still groggy, one hand on the wall to steady herself. Her eyes lifted—
And she froze.
Villagers who had been terrified hours ago were now laughing and eating with Ash, Lucy, Uta, Selina and Ace.
Ash was sitting in the middle of it all, smiling lightly as he kept entertaining group of kids.
Shiruku's jaw dropped, "...What the heck is happening here?"
{}
Meanwhile at the docks....
On the docked pirate ship, Crescent-Moon Gyari lay sprawled across the deck, a massive bruise swelling across half his jaw.
His crew circled him nervously. "C-Captain… you okay…?"
"Should we… uhh… move him?"
"He looks kind of… dead."
Gyari's eye twitched open, "...What… happened.... Why is my jaw in pain…?"
The crew gulped in perfect sync as they explained as his anger grew.
Gyari sat up slowly, trembling with rage, his mustache quivering with anger. "That...brat… sent me… FLYING!?"
His men nodded.
Gyari shook with fury. "That brat… that insolent brat… I'll show her what happens when you mess with Crescent-Moon Gyari!"
He stood, wobbling—Then fell flat on his face.
His crew stared. "…Captain?"
Gyari raised a shaky fist getting up, "That brat just took me by surprise because I dropped my guard down. Prepare the weapons! We're going back! And show them our swords that took even marines. Take the pistols too. I swear I'll— I'll erase that whole village if I have to!" The crew shouted in cry in joy and followed his command.
Gyari shouts one's all are ready, "Alright, Let's go."
{}
Back at the Village:
Shiruku sat quietly with a bowl of ramen in her hands, still staring around in disbelief.
Just hours ago, pirates raided her village — and now that same villagers was laughing, eating, and casually chatting with… pirates. Even if these pirates had saved them, it felt unreal.
She muttered, "What is even happening…?"
Ash and Lucy walked over and sat on either side of her — Lucy flopping down with zero grace.
Ash gave a small, warm smile. "We heard about you. All good things. You've got a good heart, Shiruku... Aaand actually, there's something I-we wanted to—"
Lucy leaned in, eyes sparkling. "Join our crew!"
Shiruku froze. Spoon halfway to her mouth. Brain completely blue-screened.
Ash groaned. "Lucy… I was going to ask her that."
Lucy puffed her chest. "So, what's the difference? I'm also the captain."
"That's not the point. You can't just throw it at her like that! Look at the poor girl — she's in shock because of you!"
Lucy peeked at Shiruku… then grinned shamelessly. "Shishishi, she looks fine to me."
"Stop laughing like an idiot!"
Shiruku finally snapped out of it. "Are you two crazy? I—I'm not joining pirates!"
Both stopped mid-bicker and turned toward her.
Ash lifted his hands. "Hey, relax. We're not forcing anything. It was just an offer."
Lucy cut in taking her free hand, "Buuut why? It'll be fun! We can go everywhere! Find treasure! Have good adventures!"
Ash grabbed Lucy by the back of her shirt and slid her a step away. "Ignore her for a second."
He met Shiruku's eyes, "Look… I get it. You don't trust pirates. Honestly? You shouldn't. But we're not like the rest. And you already know that."
Shiruku's grip tightened slightly on her bowl.
Ash continued, with warm voice, "If you're worried that leaving will put your village at risk — don't be. We already have a way to keep this place protected. And I promise we won't let any harm come to this island."
Shiruku gave him a doubtful look.
Ash smirked. "I know, I know. Big claims. We are new crew with no name behind us. But trust me when I say— we're one of the strongest crew in East Blue."
He pointed at Lucy, who was still dangling and kicking her legs. "She might look like an idiot but she alone could wipe out most pirate crews without breaking a sweat in east blue."
Lucy beamed proudly. "Damn right!"
Ash ignored her again, "If you join us… we'll train you. Make you strong enough to protect your home — and even yourself. And you won't just be a crew member."
He smiled gently, genuinely, "You'll be family. Believe me, when I say to us, that actually means something."
Lucy finally wriggled free from his clutches and plopped beside her again. "And we're going to the Grand Line to find One Piece!" she declared. "And I'll be Pirate Queen!"
Ash smirked. "And me Pirate King."
Shiruku looked at them — and for the first time, her eyes softened.
Ash stood and stretched. "We're not asking for your answer now. We'll be here till we deal with the problem. So, take your time. Think about it."
Lucy reached out and tugged Shiruku's sleeve. "…But not too long, okay!?"
"Lucy—stop bothering her." Ash grabbed Lucy again and dragged her off as she complained loudly.
Most of the villagers had settled down, tension replaced by smiles. The air felt lighter now—safer—thanks to Ash and the girls.
Shiruku walked toward Ash slowly, still unsure, still processing everything.
Ash was standing at the edge of the path, watching the horizon. He sensed her and turned with a gentle smile. "Hey there."
Shiruku nervously rubbed her arm giving him a small smile, "Hey…I wanted to thank you all. For helping the village."
Ash shrugged lightly. "No problem. We're just glad we got here in time."
Shiruku inhaled softly. "And… also about your offer. I thought about it and I'm sorry, but I don't—"
BANG—!!
A gunshot tore through the calm.
Ash moved before Shiruku even understood what was happening.
Kashu flashed into his hand—metal clashed violently as he intercepted a bullet an inch from Shiruku's face. The force of it kicked up her hair.
Shiruku froze, breath caught in her throat. She hadn't even seen the attack.
In the next instant—
Lucy and Selina appeared at Ash's sides in a blur using Soru. Ace and Uta dropped in front of the villagers, shielding them immediately.
Gyari and his men marching came into view, weapons raised, fury radiating off them.
Gyari pointed his shaking sword at Lucy, veins popping on his forehead, "I WON'T FORGIVE YOU, BRAT! YOU HUMILIATED ME! NOW I'LL—"
Lucy sighed loudly, bored out of her mind, "Oh… it's just the weak weird-mustache guy again."
Gyari almost swallowed his tongue, "Y-You dare insult me again!? A-AND… WEAK!? WHO ARE YOU CALLING WEAK!?"
Lucy shrugged lazily, "I dunno… who got sent flying with one punch?"
"That was because my guard was down!!" Gyari barked defensively.
Lucy tilted her head, "So you admit you were too weak to react?"
Gyari snapped instinctively— "YESSS—"
Every villager… even his own crew stopped breathing.
Lucy smirked, "Nice. Happy you accepted the truth."
Gyari's brain rebooted, "W-WAIT—NO—!! DON'T TWIST MY WORDS!!"
Murmurs whispered through the crowd. "…She actually made him say it…"
Gyari trembled with pure humiliation, mustache shaking like a loose spring, "THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT—!! YOU—YOU—!! BRRAAATTT!!"
Ash walked forward casually smirking, "Well, Lucy… I didn't know you were good with words. Nice— you're learning."
Lucy put her hands on her hips, proud, "Shishishi~ Of course, Ash!"
Ash turned his gaze toward Gyari, expression calm but sharp, "So… you're Gyari. Well met."
Gyari pointed his sword at Ash now, irritation dripping from his voice, "Now, who the hell are YOU supposed to be?"
Ash smiled lightly. "Me? You can call me Ash. And—I'm a pirate too."
Gyari snorted. "A pirate? You? Which crew are you even from?"
Ash shrugged casually, cheerful as always. "We're new. Actually… we formed our crew today. And I'm with her, actually—"
He pointed his thumb at Lucy, "—and with them too." He added, pointing at Selina, Ace, and Uta.
For a moment, Gyari's men blinked then—
"Oh! Congratulations, mate!"
"Yeah, congrats on starting out!"
Gyari spun on them, veins exploding on his forehead, "IDIOTS!! THEY'RE OUR ENEMY! STOP CONGRATULATING THEM!!"
Then he jabbed his sword back toward Ash, "And YOU—stop acting friendly! Once I deal with that girl and wipe this village off the map, you're next!"
Ash sighed, glancing at Selina and Lucy, "Yep… talking isn't gonna work. His head's too full of revenge and bullshit."
He nodded at Lucy, "Well then, I tried the peaceful way. Since he came all this way just for you—why don't you give him a little attention?"
Lucy stepped forward eagerly, cracking her knuckles, "Sure, Ash! I've been waiting for you to say that."
Ash walked back with Selina toward where the villagers are with Uta and Ace protecting them. He had to drag Shiruku by the wrist because she kept trying to step forward.
"Why are you leaving her alone!?" Shiruku hissed. "She needs help—this guy is dangerous! Let me go! I should help her protecting the village!"
Ash stopped and turned his head slightly, giving her that steady, confident smile, "Hey… what did I tell you earlier? Believe in us."
He nodded toward Lucy, "Believe in her."
Then he called out, "Oi, Lucy! How long do you need?"
Lucy didn't even look back, "Shishishi! I'll be back in just a minute!"
Ash nodded like it was the most normal answer in the world, "You heard her. A minute. Come on."
Lucy stared at Gyari as he laughed loudly. "Girl, you really think you can take us all on alone?" he boasted. "I am Crescent-Mo—"
A sharp gust of wind rushed past Gyari's face — and then. Before anyone understood what happened, Lucy was just standing there, casually brushing her hair aside.
Gyari blinked in confusion by the sudden gust of wind. But the two crewmen beside him are in absolute shock with their eyes wide open.
Then he slowly turned around and he too froze in shock like them.
His crew was scattered across the village — some knocked into walls, others sprawled on the ground, a few somehow stuck up in trees. All of them unconscious.
All of this happened in the span of blink.
The villagers stood silent in shock with their jaw wide open. Even Shiruku's jaw hung open just like the rest. To them Lucy hadn't moved at all—she was just standing still, then there is a gust of wind and Gyari's men were gone.
Gyari's face twisted into disbelief, "W-WHAT!? HOW—!? WHEN DID YOU—!? YOU WERE JUST STANDING THERE!!"
Lucy tilted her head, completely unfazed as she walked toward him, "And now it's your turn."
Gyari and his two remaining men staggered backward, fear written across their faces. Their bravado had evaporated completely.
"S-Stay away from us!!" Gyari shouted, though his voice trembled more than it threatened.
Lucy walked toward them with a smirk — which only made Gyari's knees shake harder.
That was the moment panic snapped whatever courage the three of them had left.
All of them yanked out their pistols at once.
"Shoot her!!"
They fired until their guns clicked empty. A few stray bullets raced toward the villagers, but none reached — Ash, Ace, Uta, and Selina intercepted every single one.
But Lucy didn't move.
Three bullets slammed straight into her chest.
Shiruku's scream tore through the air behind her, villagers shouting in fear as they watched the shots hit point-blank.
For a split second, Gyari and his men actually smiled — believing they'd won.
Then everyone one of their faces twisted in shock because the bullets sank into Lucy's body, her body stretching farther and farther, pulled thin by the impact—yet she never moved an inch.
Then, in one sharp motion, she snapped back, slinging the bullet away and sending it screaming straight back at the attacker at far greater speed.
Two struck Gyari's henchmen, dropping them instantly. The last bullet slammed into Gyari's pistol arm, sending his weapon flying and making him howl as he clutched his now-injured hand.
Silence blanketed the village. Ash, Ace, Uta, and Selina watched their shocked faces with small smirks.
Gyari, pale and shaking, stuttered, "W-What… what kind of monster are you…!?"
Lucy stood casually, completely unfazed, "Oh, I ate the Gum-Gum Fruit," she said simply, stretching her cheeks with her hands. "So, now I've got a rubber body."
Lucy stepped forward, stretching her arm and locking her fingers as they cracked. "Well~… now it's your turn."
Gyari stumbled back, panicking. "W-Wait! W-We can… we can make a deal! We're both pirates, right!? I—I'll give you all my money! My treasure! Everything!"
Lucy tilted her head. "Sorry. But you had this coming."
She pulled her fist back.
"GUM-GUM… NO—"
Her arm stretched and shot forward like a cannon.
"PISTOL!!"
The punch buried itself in Gyari's gut, folding him in half before launching him across the village.
He slammed into a tree so hard the trunk splintered—then dropped face-first onto the ground, completely unconscious.
Lucy dusted her hands and turned to Ash with a grin, flashing a victory sign. "I'm finished!"
Ace smirked. "Yeah, but you took thirty seconds more than you said, slowpoke."
Lucy's eye twitched. "I—I'm not a slowpoke! YOU are!" She stuck her tongue out at her.
While Uta, Ace, and Selina piled Gyari and his crew together, tying them up without much care, Ash and Lucy finished returning the stolen supplies and money to the villagers.
When everything was finally sorted, Shiruku approached them. She stopped in front of Ash and Lucy, gripping her hands nervously.
"Hey… about your offer," she said quietly. "If I go with you…, can you really make me strong?"
The villagers who heard her froze.
The headman hurried over, shocked. "Shiruku? What are you saying? You're leaving us?"
Shiruku looked at him, then at the others around her.
"At first, I wasn't going to," she admitted. "But… seeing Lucy today, and hearing how there are people strong enough to level islands out there… I can't imagine that kind of strength."
She swallowed hard.
"I realized staying here won't make me strong enough to protect the village. I want to grow. I want to fight for all of you properly."
Then she turned back to Ash, eyes steady and clear, "You said you had a way to protect the village while I'm gone… right?"
Ash and Lucy exchanged a glance with a smirk on both their faces.
