August looked at me with faint condescension.
"We haven't reached the part that warrants your anger yet."
In response, I reinforced my sword with Aura.
Whatever he had just done, I wasn't going to underestimate him again.
"I don't need your permission or your master's."
My grip tightened around the sword.
"I'll carve my own way through."
I prepared to launch myself at him.
But before I could move, Mother's arm extended in front of me, stopping me in place.
I froze... Her eyes never once left August.
"I accept your lord's invitation. Step aside, Lord of Vainglory."
Mother agreed to proceed according to what August and his master wanted, causing me to frown instinctively.
"Don't, Mother! We can defeat him first, then go together!"
