A perfect curtain call!
The old Mayor sat in a wheelchair and announced at City Hall that due to health reasons, he would be unable to continue serving the citizens for the time being; he would be indefinitely resting.
The officials and staff at City Hall thanked him for the contributions he made to Lake City over the years.
Some citizens also spontaneously came to thank the old Mayor for his dedication to the city, and of course, they took with them some nearly expired food when they left.
The only local newspaper in Lake City that reports news used the title "Twenty Years" to introduce the years the Mayor dedicated to Lake City.
Of course, these twenty years do not refer to his twenty years as Mayor, but start from when he entered local politics as a Municipal Councilor, to introduce what he did in the following twenty years.
He was not actually an old man who made any outstanding contributions to the city.
