Garius leaned back in his chair, elbow resting on the armrest, his cheek propped on his knuckle, mumbling softly.
"We'll see if he's able to do that. But I doubt he will. He had one chance before, the easiest one, and yet he didn't take it… even when the fruit of life was right there, glowing and ripe for the taking, he hesitated."
Francesca shook her head.
"It's because she reminded him of the promise that made him hesitate. You should be thankful that your youngest still thinks of you. It's all because you kept making promises to the girls you met long ago, promising to marry them."
Garius let out a soft chuckle.
"I didn't make those promises, you know. You're the one who suggested it to them." He glanced at her with a subtle, knowing look.
Francesca smiled and glanced at him from the side.
"No~ you did make the promise to them~"
Garius shook his head. "Because you made sure I had no way to refuse and had to make that promise."
