"[Host, please accept the mission!]" The System's ill-timed voice suddenly chimed in.
'Damn it, you pick now to give me a mission? Are you trying to get me killed?' Shin was speechless. His power hadn't recovered much, and now he was facing Trunks—a heavy-hitter from later in the Dragon Ball saga. He was in a tight spot.
"[The System requires the Host to defeat Trunks within thirty minutes. Upon completion, the Host will be taught the art of Flight.]"
'So I can successfully copy Flight?'
The System's voice faded, leaving Shin standing there, stunned.
"Shin, look out!" Kushina suddenly yelled.
Shin snapped back to reality just in time to see Trunks rocketing toward him like a missile.
"Hiraishin!" Shin frantically threw a handful of kunai, then warped to safety.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The ground where he had been standing was completely obliterated, leaving nothing but a scarred wasteland. Dragon Ball truly was a high-powered world—a single attack could reshape the landscape.
Trunks then turned his attention to Kushina, convinced that these two strange newcomers were Androids 17 and 18.
"BASTARD! YOU DARE ATTACK ME!" Kushina roared, preparing to unleash the Nine-Tails. But as she tried to call upon its power, she felt nothing. Her connection to the Nine-Tails' chakra was gone.
'What's happening?'
"Oh no!" A wave of dread washed over Kushina. She realized with dawning horror that this new world was somehow restricting her access to the Tailed Beasts' power.
"Shin!" she cried out in fear.
"Calling for help won't save you!" Trunks was a machine of pure vengeance, fueled by the deaths of his comrades, his mentors, and especially Gohan. He saw only his targets, and he would crush them.
But just as he closed in on Kushina, a sharp pain erupted in his back, throwing him off balance.
"Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"
Shin had used the Flying Thunder God Technique to appear behind Trunks, striking him with a direct hit.
The biggest weakness of Dust Release in the Naruto world was its immense power but terrible accuracy. Here and now, that wasn't an issue. With Shin's incredible casting speed, hitting Trunks was no problem.
Even as a Super Saiyan, Trunks couldn't just shrug off a Dust Release attack. He was sent tumbling backward.
But Shin knew it wouldn't be that easy. If a single Dust Release could take down Trunks, Dragon Ball wouldn't be considered such a high-tier universe.
Sure enough, Trunks roared in fury and charged back at Shin. The attack had merely scraped his skin—he was still full of fight.
'Interesting.' Looks like it was time for Sage Mode. Shin quickly entered the state.
"Sage Art: Myoshinmon!" Shin yelled, and countless massive wooden gates slammed down from the sky.
Trunks froze, dumbfounded. He had fought the androids countless times, but he had never seen anything like this. These androids had an endless bag of bizarre tricks.
"Kamehameha!"
Trunks didn't hesitate, unleashing a powerful energy wave that shattered the Myoshinmon gates, nullifying their suppressive effect.
"Nice! But what about this? Earth Release: Golem Technique!"
"Summoning Jutsu!"
For Shin, casting these ordinary ninjutsu was effortless—his chakra felt almost limitless as he unleashed one devastating attack after another.
A mountain of rock crashed down on Trunks, which he promptly shattered. But he was immediately swarmed by a horde of monstrous creatures.
"What are these things??" Trunks's speed slowed. Killing them was as easy as swatting flies, but their sheer numbers were overwhelming.
This was a jutsu of Shin's own creation, summoning monsters from other dimensions all at once, designed to throw any opponent off balance.
Trunks quickly vaporized the creatures with an energy blast, but the effort was clearly taking a toll on him. He was starting to feel the strain.
'Good! This is my chance. Time to show you my real power, Trunks. You'd better be ready!'
Shin laughed, and his eyes morphed into the Mangekyō Sharingan.
First came Amaterasu!
A torrent of black flames erupted, threatening to engulf Trunks, who was stunned to find that the fire couldn't be extinguished.
Then came a massive wave of water, crashing down on him.
'A MONSTER! HE'S A MONSTER!'
Trunks was in shock. Was this really an android? He was like a god of creation from the old legends.
Of course, a simple Amaterasu wouldn't do much real damage to an android's body, but it was incredibly effective at wearing him down.
Trapped by the relentless onslaught of jutsu, Trunks was pinned down, unable to advance or retreat. He didn't know what to do. His combat experience was limited, and facing such an unorthodox opponent left him completely bewildered.
Dragon Ball was all about straightforward brawls, relying on raw power to overwhelm an opponent—not this kind of bizarre strategy.
Seeing Trunks's movements slow, Shin knew his opportunity had arrived. He unleashed his specialty—the Sharingan's genjutsu.
Tsukuyomi!
Trunks froze. The world around him twisted into a grotesque, dark landscape. A man with a blurred face stood before him, calling his name.
"Father! Is that you?" Trunks felt it was his father, Vegeta, but he couldn't speak. The world grew darker, and his father collapsed in a pool of blood.
Then came Krillin, Gohan, and the others, all dead. The cruel laughter of the androids echoed around him.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Trunks screamed in agony.
"Did he fall for your genjutsu?" Kushina stood beside Shin, watching Trunks, whose hair had returned to its normal color. She felt a pang of pity for the boy—he looked so young and handsome.
"Heh," Shin chuckled. "Plenty of people more famous than him have fallen for my genjutsu. He's not the first, and he won't be the last." He knew he had completed the System's mission.
The System's voice echoed in his mind, congratulating him on his success.
'I can copy Flight now.' The art of flight was a fundamental skill in the Dragon Ball world. Shin instantly grasped all its secrets. Without relying on any jutsu, he lifted off the ground, pulling Kushina up into the air with him.
