Surprisingly enough, all dungeons had a similar entrance. It didn't matter that this one was filled with water as soon as the doors opened, you were still descending down steps into dark waters. Similar to the stairs down into the undead dungeon, and Cass assumed, all dungeons they had cleared with Cassian as well.
Edgar took the lead on the magic here, casting the light magic so that Cass could focus on everything else.
It was a set it and forget it kind of magic. Easy magic that most kids learned to cast as young as possible. An easy drain on their magic that taught them control. Cass remembered reading about it in one of his magic books, and strangely, the demonology book as well.
Some magic training was the same, across the board. It even came up in some of his romance novels. God, Cass really wanted to finish reading the one he started in the carriage. He'd really wasted his time last night by just watching the other men move around camp like a damn puppy.
