"Well, I feel like the three of you are getting too caught up on the tiny details. All I'm hearing is that you're working, Cass is trying to reward you, and you're all putting up a fight to protest what he's giving you. Do you not like his gifts?" Lucian asked.
Cass turned to stare at both Gideon and Edgar, worried that they were going to say that they didn't like what he'd done.
Both men looked horrified at Lucian's suggestion.
"Me? Not liking a thoughtful gift that Cass planned out? Are you trying to make me into a bad guy, Lucy?" Edgar asked, pulling back to place a hand lightly on his chest. He looked deeply offended, while Gideon pulled back with a small smile.
"I would never be upset by something Cass gave me, but, we don't really have the ability to relax the way that he wants right now, do we?" Gideon asked and Cass froze. They did…though?
