The mist tried different attacks as they climbed. It showed temptation. It showed fear. It showed victory. It showed loved ones. It showed enemies. It showed futures where they became kings, futures where they died forgotten, futures where they betrayed one another for Genesis Marks, and futures where one of them stood before the Genesis Throne while the others fell into the void.
But none of the five stopped for long. They were all monsters in their own way, and if their wills could be broken so easily, they would never have entered the Genesis Trial in the first place.
Still, the trial was not meaningless.
By the time they reached the end of the corridor, each person's aura had changed slightly.
