He winked, clearly hinting at someone specific. Losing one of them could spell big trouble.
"Relax, if anyone's going to mess up, it's not going to be me," Xin replied, rolling his eyes.
Screwing up? Him? That was a joke. Even if he had the Third Raikage chasing him down, Xin wouldn't break a sweat.
Xin was always cautious, no matter how powerful he got. Failure wasn't an option, and he wasn't about to let carelessness cause things to go off the rails.
"You want to tag along?" Xin asked.
"Go with you?" Minato blinked, caught off guard. He hadn't expected to be invited along on the mission.
Actually, going with Xin didn't sound like a bad idea. Minato thought it over. He could train with Xin along the way, spar a bit, and get stronger.
Staying in the village would just mean more solo training and keeping an eye on Nawaki, who wasn't recovering anytime soon. As for playing nurse... yeah, that wasn't happening. That was a job for the hospital staff.
Taking a trip sounded like a much better option.
"Sure. You go pick up the mission, and I'll report to the Hokage," Minato decided.
In Konoha, you couldn't just leave the village without permission unless you had serious connections or ridiculous strength, like the legendary Sannin. They came and went as they pleased, and no one dared question them.
The two of them split up, and Xin headed to the mission department.
"Bring me the missions and requests related to the Land of Rain and the Land of Iron."
"Understood, please wait a moment."
The person at the mission desk pulled out the scrolls and began sorting through them. It didn't take long for the missions and requests from both regions to be gathered.
Xin began reviewing them.
There weren't many missions for the Land of Rain, but there were quite a few for the Land of Iron. Most of them were escort missions-escorting caravans heading to the Land of Iron.
The person at the desk, cigarette in mouth, explained, "Since Hanzō from Amegakure has been attacking the Land of Iron, the number of escort missions has spiked recently. This request in particular has a nice payout. If you're interested, you could take it."
"Let me have a look," Xin said, unfurling the scroll.
The request was to escort a caravan delivering food and medicine to the Land of Iron. The food was just an extra item, but the medicine was what the Land of Iron needed most desperately at the moment.
Looks like the war had really hit the Land of Iron hard. Hanzō had given those samurai quite a rough time.
There was even a time constraint.
Glancing over the conditions, Xin narrowed his eyes.
The mission's reward was quite substantial.
