Chapter 343 - Chapter 343 - Family.

[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]

Third Person POV

Kaer Morhen.

...

...

"Então, alguma notícia de Coën?" Lambert asked Eskel while eating bread with meat sauce, having breakfast that morning.

"Nothing. I haven't heard anything about him...", Eskel replied.

"How come? You brought a bard, but you didn't bring any news about Coën?" Lambert muttered.

"Speaking of him, he's sleeping, I believe," Vesemir said, sitting at the head of the table, also eating.

"Yes. And he said he wanted to meet Geralt and I brought him here..." Eskel explained.

"They should come here in the next few days, so leave the bard..." Vesemir said at the end.

"Tsk. Do you have any idea how much that guy keeps singing all day, it's annoying..." Lambert muttered...

They ate in silence for a while, until Lambert broke the silence again. "So, since Geralt left with the children, a lot of things started happening, so..." Lambert didn't refrain from asking, seriously, to Vesemir.

"Something like that," Vesemir just retorted, but paying more attention to the food than to Lambert.

"'Something like that'? You say it as if it had been little! By the gods, Vesemir, look at this castle! It was burned by dragon fire and now it's covered in wood..." Lambert muttered.

"You can't blame him, can you, Lambert? It's not like you can fight a dragon," Eskel said.

"Damn... but it's only been a little over a year since they left, and suddenly the entire continent is upside down. Do you know the stories and rumors we've heard in every village we stopped at, or city... the songs the bards are singing now? Not to mention that I ran into Madara — or rather, his clone — a few times in the meantime. He just told me I would know more later..." Lambert began to mutter, dissatisfied.

"I also heard rumors. But I'm not out there making a fuss about it..." Eskel mocked.

"Oh, sure... what do you deal with? A few vampires here, others there, some monsters. Meanwhile, everything I've been hearing about is an entire forest being wiped out overnight. Suddenly, all the monsters in a certain region simply disappeared. Dragons in Redania looking for Madara after the mess in Skellige, the wedding of those two brats, getting titles as future kings and queens of Cintra.... then the war against the dragons and those blue giants..."

"And now? The two brats are important enough to make all the kings start kissing their feet. Damn, I don't understand anything anymore. What kind of monsters did we create here, Vesemir?" Lambert complained to the older witcher.

"Well... once he brought me the founder of our school almost dead, the bastard of 300 years was here, in this hall, dying... I had to ask some questions and I saw Madara kill him," Vesemir said in a neutral tone.

"That's right!" Lambert pointed at him. "This is all madness. We used to have normal lives before meeting that brat. Now we're being attacked by dragons! And all the kings now have their eyes on us too. They think we're part of that organization called Akatsuki. Can you believe they asked me that? A duke approached me when I passed through his territory. And just because of that they thought I might be one of them and didn't mess with me. Another one paid me double when he found out I was from the School of the Wolf..." Lambert began to complain.

"I don't know about that, but the dragons attacked because of a demon, Lambert." Vesemir said.

"See? That's what I'm talking about!" Lambert raised his voice. "We're witchers! We deal with monsters, vampires and other creatures. Now we have to deal with dragons and even demons!?" he exclaimed.

But neither of the two really seemed to care about his opinion.

"A battle of dragons and a demon? That makes a great ballad!" Dandelion's voice appeared as he showed up stretching, approaching the table.

"Great..." Lambert muttered. "The talkative bard just arrived."

Dandelion was quite excited, asking things about the dragons that attacked the castle. He even spent the whole day calling for Madara's clone, who never appeared to him, who, according to Vesemir, should be hiding somewhere watching.

And it was better not to try to find him, because even Vesemir seemed paranoid at first and had to give up, since he never found the hidden clone. He only appeared when he had something to say or in the middle of an emergency, like when the dragon appeared and he showed up to manage to get the old witcher out of the castle.

While the group was still murmuring, the entrance door opened, and everyone immediately raised their eyes, seeing Geralt appearing before them.

"Geralt? When did you arrive?" Lambert asked, surprised to see it was him.

"Don't worry, I was just teleported. We just arrived," Geralt said.

Other people also began to appear through the entrance: Yennefer, of course. Then Mousesack and Triss appeared.

"For someone who doesn't like teleportation, that word sounds strange coming from you," Lambert commented.

"I didn't come with the sorceresses' teleports. We have someone among us who can teleport much better," he said calmly.

"Ciri finally arrived? If you're here, is Madara here too?" Dandelion asked.

"Yes. They're outside. Ciri gave birth two days ago. They're showing Kaer Morhen to the boy." Geralt said before going to hug Lambert.

"Ciri and Madara... those brats already have a son. I can't imagine how troublesome this one might be... I remember us talking about what kind of monster would come out of them..." Lambert couldn't help but grumble.

Geralt didn't even manage to retort and greeted Eskel with a hug. Dandelion also approached.

"I hope the birth went well," Vesemir said, with an almost concerned tone.

"It went perfectly well. The boy was born healthy and strong. The problems Ciri had regarding the energy of the child's father no longer affect her," Yennefer said.

"So that's good..." Vesemir said with satisfaction.

"Hello everyone," Mousesack greeted while Triss also stood beside him.

Right after, Madara and Ciri entered at that moment, while Ciri carried a small bundle in her arms very carefully, and Madara walked beside her.

"Hello everyone," Ciri said with a radiant smile.

"Hello brat. Now let me see this brat," Lambert said.

"He is not a brat, Lambert! He is Aren!!" Ciri said with a stern look and tilted the baby forward, while the boy seemed sleepy, slowly opening his eyes and observing the scene in front of him before blinking and widening his eyes.

"He is the spitting image of his father," Lambert said. "When we have to face dragons and demons, well... we already know who to turn to, right?"

"Lamber t... your jokes are sometimes not funny," Eskel rebuked his colleague.

"Well, anyway, he looks like a healthy boy. What's his name again?"

"Aren Uchiha," Ciri replied with a tone full of pride. "The crown prince of Cintra," she added.

"Take him." Ciri approached Vesemir and handed him the boy. The old witcher was surprised, but ended up accepting while looking at the boy with no other choice.

"Careful," Ciri warned.

Vesemir couldn't stop a smile from forming on his face while holding the baby who looked at him curiously.

"Black hair and black eyes... He seems very healthy..." he said with the best humor a witcher could produce.

"And you, boy..." Lambert turned to Madara, who until now had not said anything. "Having children, taking over kingdoms, facing dragons and demons... I'm almost jealous."

"You are also to blame, while you go around taking contracts here and there... but you got yourself into trouble when it comes to Rivia."

"You know about that?" Lambert looked surprised. "Damn... you were following us the whole time, weren't you?" he asked in a suspicious tone.

"You don't need to see it that way. I needed to find your location at certain moments. I heard about your work in Lidia with those harpies. It wasn't very smart to try to fight them drunk, was it?"

Lambert seemed to become embarrassed with everyone looking at him, surprised.

"It wasn't my fault! I had stopped to rest a bit at the tavern. There was nothing wrong with that. After I left, I had no choice but to fight when the damn harpies ambushed me... It was that Lamia whose contract I accepted!"

"Well, anyway, it's good to see you again, Lambert... Eskel," Madara said.

Eskel nodded to him, shaking his hand. Lambert did the same shortly after, but with his pride a little hurt.

"If you knew where I was, you must know where Coen is too, right?" Lambert commented.

Madara nodded. "Yes. He is in Sodden at the moment. He was heading North. If you wait a bit, I can ask if he would like to come straight here," Madara said.

In the next moment, Madara simply disappeared with Hiraishin.

"Wait, where did he go?" Lambert immediately asked, surprised by the teleport.

"He always does that. Get used to it, boy," Geralt replied.

"So, how was the meeting?" Vesemir turned to Ciri while returning the baby.

Dandelion was already scribbling on his sheet, writing down everything he heard.

Ciri adjusted the little baby in her arms and looked back at Vesemir.

"It was good, if you want to know. Madara put those kings and queens in their place, announced some traitors and we also showed everyone our position in the North. They also realized that we cannot be controlled," she said.

"Well... they certainly won't accept that easily," Vesemir said, somewhat concerned.

"Maybe. But my husband would act against anyone who tried. He himself threatened all of them. Madara is no longer the same person who left Kaer Morhen. Now he can face any kingdom of the North... or all of them, if they want to come at the same time. He can produce the same power that caused that war in Sodden. Besides that, we also have allies. And I'm sure that Kaedwen, Lydia and Rivia or Redania would not face us... which leaves only Kovir and Temeria with some smaller kingdoms... They are nothing," Ciri said.

Vesemir nodded with some caution.

Lambert listened to all that without saying anything, but he looked a little pale.

Dandelion scribbled even more on his paper.

Everyone who came with Madara did not express anything. They were already used to such words — and all of them had been present at the meeting of the kings.

It was at that moment that Madara arrived with Coen on top of a horse beside him. Coen blinked and seemed stunned to see himself back in Kaer Morhen.

"What...?" Coen muttered, surprised.

He was still riding his horse when Madara appeared beside him.

"You were already coming to Kaer Morhen anyway. I just made the process faster," Madara said, shrugging as he returned to Ciri and took the baby.

"Hello everyone," Coen muttered awkwardly, while everyone greeted him.

"So you were further south than I was. Tell me, you didn't go to the Nilfgaard Empire looking for work, did you?" Lambert asked, while Coen began to tell his adventures.

Ciri, who was watching her son in her husband's arms, turned back to Vesemir. "You know, I was thinking, grandpa... after what has been happening... it might be a bit dangerous to keep Kaer Morhen here, right? Why don't we move the headquarters to Cintra, after Madara and I conquer the kingdom?" Ciri said, making Vesemir raise an eyebrow.

She looked at him and then at Madara, who had his eyes on his son.

"We can't, Ciri. Here there are areas we use for training and there are also places of power in the region."

"You haven't trained any witchers for a long time. I don't see why stay here. In Cintra, after we recover the country, you will have a place to live peacefully. Do you know what would have happened if Madara had not gone against the king of Kaedwen?" she said in a serious tone.

Vesemir just shook his head. They would certainly have been in serious trouble if that had happened, because the king had lied to Vesemir after asking for help to remove a curse — and even tried to kill him after the job.

"And the castle?" Eskel said beside him, with his arms crossed.

"Well, the castle can be moved as well. Madara could teleport it directly to Cintra," Ciri said.

Vesemir frowned.

"Well... maybe we can discuss that in the future, after you conquer Cintra, as you say," he replied.

"Alright. But know that I would like you to stay there instead of here. Madara agrees as well," she said before taking the baby from Madara's hands and starting to hug and kiss him.

"So, Madara... could you give me some details about the fight against the demon or the dragons?" Dandelion asked loudly.

Madara looked at him. "You want details? Are you sure?" Madara asked with a small mischievous smile.

"Of course. I'm thinking of composing a new song," he barely finished speaking before seeing Madara's eyes suddenly turn red.

Madara began transferring to him all the memories of the fight, from his own point of view.

Dandelion absorbed everything, suddenly he collapsed and fainted on top of his own notebook.

"He couldn't handle it," Triss murmured.

In any case, they stayed there until night, when they held a banquet to celebrate the birth of Aren Uchiha.

A baby was something rare in that group. After all, it was composed of witchers, sorceresses and a bard who was always getting himself into trouble with women — but who had also never gotten any of them pregnant.

So, children there... Aren was the first.

The group ended up welcoming Aren with affection, enjoying that moment like a small family gathered together.
