Chapter 945 - Chapter 945 Mobile Experience Packs

Ging guessed that 'experience transfer' was effective based on Law's strange behavior earlier.

He guessed right.

It was indeed effective, but only for Law.

This was also his initial conception… if this could accelerate Law's countdown, it would be the best outcome.

Otherwise, even if their entire team landed on the Dark Continent, they would have to wait a year or two at the coastline.

Since earlier, Sheila wasn't confirmed as a teammate, Law didn't plan to discuss this on-site. Now that it was confirmed, there was no need for concealment.

Moreover, Sheila would learn about this sooner or later.

"I haven't figured out the principle, but the Aura about to dissipate from the corpse can indeed accelerate my countdown," Law said, pinching his chin.

This was why he needed to stay longer. If the remaining perpetrators could be found, perhaps a year or so could be reduced in a short time.

That way, they might not have to wait too long at the Dark Continent coastline, and there might even be a chance to successfully unseal before reaching the Dark Continent.

"Because it's you, I thought this possibility existed," Ging looked at Law with a peculiar expression.

Nearby, Sheila was utterly confused.

"So how much time did you reduce just now?" Ging then asked.

"Twenty-eight days," Law replied.

"That much?"

"Yeah."

"If I'd known earlier, I wouldn't have killed those three. That's three months!" Ging clapped his hands in frustration, recalling the three perpetrators encountered on the ship.

"That couldn't be helped. Who knows how many of them there are now? If only they'd voluntarily show up. With their 'help', I'd unseal quickly," Law smiled.

"What… are you two talking about?" Sheila finally couldn't help but ask.

Law, Ging, and even Kuro simultaneously looked at Sheila.

Then, Law briefly explained the sealing matter, and only then did Sheila understand.

This matter sounded quite interesting.

'Perpetrators accumulated experience by killing people, and when Law killed perpetrators, he could obtain the experience accumulated by them?'

"So what do you plan to do?" Sheila asked curiously.

"Flush them out, then deal with them one by one. But I don't want to delay too long," Law stated his idea.

Since these perpetrators were mobile 'countdown-reducing' experience packs, he didn't want to miss them, especially with no other options.

"If only we'd kept one alive earlier," Sheila lamented.

"He's already dead, no use saying that. But since this man targeted you, it means you have potential as bait. Why not lure out a few more?" Kuro said with 'malicious intent'.

Hearing this, Sheila lightly knocked her hand, realizing. "Right! I could lure them out."

"…"

The corner of Kuro's mouth twitched, 'Your reaction is unscientific, isn't it?'

'Who volunteers as bait so actively and happily?'

Sheila eagerly looked at Law and Ging, and the two gave her an 'X'.

Ging suggested, "The recent unidentified snake killings are probably done by one of the perpetrators. We can start from there."

Law said, "Yeah, I think so too. Although we can't move freely at night, Kuro can try to find the perpetrator using the ability, then act during the day."

Ging said, "Then first, flush out the perpetrator controlling the unidentified snakes. If captured alive, maybe we can get some useful information."

Law said, "Right. And I want to know if their levels affect the countdown reduction. Maybe higher-level ones can provide more countdown time."

Ging immediately showed an 'I'm very experienced' expression, seriously saying, "Theoretically, there should be an effect. After all, even the 'level' setting exists."

The two spoke one after another, purely treating those perpetrators with grand ambitions like destroying the world as mobile experience packs.

If perpetrators including Morena knew, who knows how they'd feel?

As Ging spoke, he suddenly extended a hand towards Law. "Any more masks? Give me one."

Law didn't ask why but said, "Yes. Want to choose one?"

"Of course!"

Ging looked extremely cautiously at the ugly mask in Law's right hand.

Then, Law had Kuro take out all flesh masks stored in its space.

Ten seconds later, Ging looked gravely at the dozens of flesh masks spread out, facing an extremely tough choice due to difficulty.

Sheila looked at those ugly masks, couldn't help but glance at Law with a strange look.

'What kind of hobby is this?'

'Having many flesh masks prepared is one thing, but each so ugly… simply no ugliest, only uglier!'

"Too hard to choose."

A minute later, Ging sighed deeply.

He just wanted to find the best-looking one among these masks.

Several more minutes passed. He sighed again. "I give up."

As soon as he finished speaking, he randomly picked a mask.

Since Law decided to stay and 'hunt' those mobile experience packs, their activity range would certainly increase, possibly covering the entire current area.

In that case, they might encounter Machi and the others, whose whereabouts were currently unknown.

To avoid this, he had to wear a mask… if necessary, even change clothes.

That night, Sheila was no longer alone, as beside her were Law and Ging.

From then on, they would act collectively.

Pop.

Sparks burst from the bonfire.

This coastal area needed to first build a cluster of structures, so firewood was currently a scarce resource.

However, before the unidentified snake incident concluded, fire sources provided a sense of security for those present. Thus, Kakin didn't restrict people from lighting bonfires.

Law, Sheila, and Ging sat around a modest bonfire, eating simple food while chatting.

If observed carefully, the flame tattoo on Law's right hand was gone, meaning Kuro wasn't here.

Somewhere on the plain, a narrow-eyed man sat on a tree stump.

This man was Sodom's companion, Daemon, the Nen user controlling the black snakes to harvest experience.

Not far from his shadow, a woman quietly approached.

Faint firelight illuminated the woman, revealing a young, pretty face, with bangs dyed several colors, and a beauty mark near her lips.

"Sodom is missing." From the shadow behind Daemon, moving with the firelight, three black snakes silently rose, staring at the woman.

"Killed?" The woman's voice sounded like an oriole leaving the valley.

"I'm not sure, but that seems the only result."

"Oh."

The woman coldly acknowledged, then as if unsure what to say next, fell silent.

The shadow's black snakes slowly sank and disappeared… whether Daemon recalled them or they went somewhere to find targets.

Perhaps both realized something, but they'd never imagine what kind of hunters were after them.

But in their eyes, no matter the obstacles ahead, they would strive with all their might to achieve their goals.

As for losing their lives…

From the moment they took their oath, they no longer considered their own lives important.
