The first day of the Grand Magic Games came to a triumphant close. Fairy Tail Team B sat at the top of the leaderboard with a commanding 20 points, with Team A close behind at 18 points.
Next came Sabertooth with 14 points, Blue Pegasus with 13, Lamia Scale with 6, Mermaid Heel with 2, Mermaid Heel with 1, and Raven Tail bringing up the rear with 0.
The unexpected rankings sparked heated discussions throughout Crocus. Even in other cities across Fiore, viewers had watched the awe-inspiring showdown between Chase and the Ten Wizard Saint via crystal ball live broadcasts.
After seven years, Fairy Tail had once again burst into the public eye—in the most overwhelming and unapologetic way possible.
For some, that night would not be easy.
Especially for Sabertooth, which had failed to hold onto its number one title, and Raven Tail, which had suffered a crushing defeat.
By In contrast, Fairy Tail's side was buzzing with celebration.
To mark their victorious first day and the undefeated record of both Teams A and B, Makarov had booked a tavern in Crocus for a small celebration.
Inside the tavern, the group gathered in small clusters, basking in the joy of their success.
One thing to note: unlike at the guild, one counterpart from each pair had to stay inside the cards. Fortunately, Chase's magic was more than powerful enough to ensure they had ample space to eat, drink, and enjoy themselves inside.
With Future Warren's Telepathy Magic connecting everyone, the only thing missing was physical contact (and brawling)—otherwise, it felt almost the same.
In a corner, Chase sat with Mira, Erza, and Lucy.
"What?! That giant figure in the arena today was Chase's second God Card?!" Lucy's eyes widened in shock.
After obtaining Obelisk the Tormentor from Acnologia, a series of events had followed, and there had been no real need to show it off—so Lucy was only learning about it now.
"I should have noticed during the Card Space training," Erza said calmly, placing a hand on Lucy's shoulder with a serious expression. "Your observational skills as an S-Class mage are still lacking, Lucy."
"Ah! Yes!" The junior Lucy straightened up immediately, surprised that Erza had already been aware of it.
"I think it was called... Obelisk the Tormentor, wasn't it?" Mira tilted her head, recalling.
During Chase's spar with Future Laxus, Team B had already witnessed Obelisk's God Slayer Magic in action.
"That's right. Along with Slifer the Sky Dragon, they're two of the Three Egyptian Gods. Above them is The Winged Dragon of Ra, which has an even higher divine status," Chase said, taking a long gulp of his iced beer and giving the three a brief primer on the Egyptian Gods.
He also found himself looking forward to the day when all three gods would be united. Though with his current magic power, without the support of the Tenrou Tree, he could at most summon one god for a short period.
"A higher divine status than Slifer..." Lucy covered her mouth in disbelief.
She hadn't seen Obelisk in person yet, but the image of Slifer suppressing Acnologia was still vivid in her mind.
The Winged Dragon of Ra was even stronger than that?!
Seeing his little sister's shocked expression, Chase set down his glass and considered for a moment, ultimately deciding not to mention Holactie the Creator of Light—the god that stood above even the Three Egyptian Gods.
That card was still a long way off for him.
"By the way, Chase—did you get anything from today's fight with Jura?" Mira suddenly asked.
Erza and Lucy immediately leaned in with curiosity, seemingly even more eager than Chase himself to see the new card.
"I did." Chase snapped his fingers with a smile.
Dark golden light wove together on the table, condensing into a slowly rotating card.
[Quick-Play Spell Card — Graceful Dice: Roll a die. Increase the target ally's magical power and defensive power according to the result. Can only be used once per short period.]
Just like with Future Laxus, the new card that had dropped was one of Joey Wheeler's signature cards.
A classic "gambler's card"—heavily reliable on luck.
"Graceful Dice? It's a support card like 'Mage Power' and 'Book of Secret Arts'!" Lucy couldn't help but lean in for a closer look.
"That's right."
Seeing his little sister so interested, Chase unlocked the card's usage permissions and handed it to her. "How about it? Want to try activating it?"
Though he hadn't tested it yet, based on the card's effect, he could roughly estimate its power. A lucky roll of six would be roughly equivalent to two copies of Book of Secret Arts.
"Eh? Me? Really?!" Lucy's face lit up with surprise.
Despite her words, her eager hands didn't pause for a moment—she grabbed the card and started fumbling with it.
Given their sibling-like relationship, there was no need for unnecessary formality.
As she channeled her magic into the card, it began to glow. A magic circle opened, and a small angel wearing a winged hat appeared, tossing the die in its h
ands.
The die spun and bounced through the air—and landed perfectly on 1.
Lucy: "..."
"Oh my, not the best luck~" Mira couldn't help but laugh.
"My mistake—I should have reminded Lucy to wash her face first," Erza said, deeply self-critical.
Having been mentally prepared, they reacted calmly. But the comrades nearby, who had been hit by the unexpected buff, instantly went wild.
"Whoa! What's this power surging through my body?!"
"This is definitely the joy of victory! That's what it means to be a man!"
"Don't just stand up and start screaming, you idiot!"
Like a spark dropped into dry straw, the small celebration naturally transitioned into its second half: a mass brawl.
"So noisy, you idiots," Cana grumbled from a corner of the tavern, hugging a barrel of booze and lying sprawled across the table. "I finally get a chance to drink without that bastard dad nagging me..."
"Oh? You look like you can hold your liquor, miss."
A stranger in purple armor sat down beside her with a smirk. "Want to have a drinking contest?"
"Hey, I don't know who you are, but I'd advise you to think twice," Future Macao said, flying through the air and crash-landing nearby with a bruised and battered face.
Following close behind, Future Wakaba, who had stopped with his face, struggled to his feet and warned: "Don't let her appearance fool you—that woman is a monster when it comes to drinking!"
Hearing that only made the stranger more arrogant. He slammed a bottle of high-proof liquor onto the table without another word.
Faced with such a challenge, Cana naturally wouldn't back down. She accepted the contest with full confidence.
Then—scene changes.
She laid sprawled on the floor, her eyes spinning, completely unconscious.
"Haha! Not so tough after all."
The stranger, still unsteady on his feet, laughed loudly and reached for Cana's swimsuit. "As my prize, I'll be taking this—"
"I'd advise you not to do that to any of our guild's girls, Bacchus."
Chase, Mira, and the others had circled around the brawl and approached from the side, naming the man directly.
Future Bacchus glanced at him disdainfully, smirked, and ignored the warning—even speeding up his reaching hand.
The next second, Chase appeared behind him.
Bacchus seemed to have anticipated this. Like a drunk staggering around, he shifted his footing and threw a rising punch from an unpredictable angle toward Chase's chin.
KABOOM!!
The sound of splintering floorboards cut through the brawling commotion.
Everyone turned to look. There, at Chase's feet, lay the drunken man sprawled on broken wood, twitching uncontrollably, a tiny soul-ghost floating from his mouth.
"Honestly, what am I going to do with you? If you wanted a prize so badly, I could have helped you sober up," Chase said, flexing his fist with a smile.
Future Macao, Future Wakaba: "He's already unconscious!!"
Everyone else: "What happened? Who is this guy?!"
Makarov: "Oh no! My wallet!!"
Future Makarov: "No—it's MY wallet!!"
