About three hours later, Yuki was still sleeping. I would have to wake her up soon because we needed to head up for the second wave, which was already on its way. While I could tell she must have been really tired, I certainly hadn't imagined her to be an overly serious workaholic who was used to only getting a minimum amount of sleep. The hard fact was that we simply did not have the luxury of rest. Not that I was one to talk, since these words came straight from the guy who had managed to sleep through that entire ordeal, for whatever that was worth.
I think it is safe to say the first wave went a lot better than I had expected. I won't ignore the fact that we had casualties, and even Ms. Roselyn got hurt, though I am sure she is healed up now. But compared to my initial paranoia about something beyond what we could handle being thrown at us, I think we did incredibly well. Again, all the praise goes to the diligent troops gathered here and not my sorry ass.
