As the war continued, a huge large-scale battle was still ongoing across the battlefield. At the same time, the 15 small-scale battles were about to begin as well, with some of the strongest members of the army facing the evolved Chimera.
---
Battle 1
The first battle was between a Volcanic Chimera, a fusion of a Lion, Salamander, and Dragon, and Quenlor, Fynris, Zerik, and Orin.
This evolved Chimera was not only extremely strong but also much smarter than the ordinary Chimera. It was also highly skilled at using elemental magic.
The Chimera opened its mouth and let out a powerful roar. Suddenly, multiple lava rocks began falling from above.
Quenlor immediately used his bow to shoot at them. His arrows were enhanced with water element magic, and when they struck the lava rocks, they broke them apart. However, the water was not enough to completely extinguish the lava. The rocks broke into smaller pieces of burning lava, forcing everyone to carefully dodge them.
Fynris moved forward, with Orin following closely behind. The two engaged the Chimera in close combat while Quenlor continued distracting it. He repeatedly fired his bow toward its face, causing the arrows to burst into mist as they hit its body. The mist spread around its face and made its vision unclear.
Meanwhile, Zerik remained in front of Quenlor, carefully analyzing the Chimera while also acting as Quenlor's guard.
The Chimera roared again in frustration, and once more, lava rocks began falling from above. Everyone dodged the larger rocks before they broke apart, then carefully avoided the smaller burning pieces.
The Chimera suddenly created an opening for itself before opening its mouth wide. It blasted a much more concentrated mass of lava toward them randomly and the attack missed but the Chimera regained its vision as mist cleared.
BOOM!
A huge sound echoed across the battlefield.
Once again, the Chimera blasted a lava rock toward them. Quenlor immediately used "Aqua Heritage."
Spiraling waves appeared from the head of his bow as he fired toward the lava rock. The attack destroyed the rock, but some smaller pieces were still burning.
Fynris immediately moved forward and destroyed them with his sword.
Fynris then activated his Aura Blade First Form, causing his sword to become surrounded by a powerful aura.
Zerik continued guarding Quenlor while Orin was goinf to support Fynris in the melee attack.
The battle had only just begun.

Battle 2
The second battle was between a Venomous Chimera made up of a Mantis, Cobra, and Scorpion, and Junith, Sylra, Doran, and Brian.
It was going to be a troublesome matchup, as three of them were melee fighters and would need to be extremely careful. Sylra had to remain on high alert and remove the venom as soon as possible if anyone was poisoned.
Junith advised Doran not to rush in and act recklessly like he usually did.
Junith knew Doran very well, and Doran had also fought alongside Brian before. Because of this, the group already had good chemistry with one another.
Junith was already brainstorming a strategy while Brian waited for the proper moment to use his ability, "Loop."
Doran, however, was eager to hammer down the Chimera. His Moltenheart already looked like he had triggered some of its seals to get started.
But the Chimera wasn't going to wait for Junith to come up with a strategy.
It suddenly rampaged around them, swinging its scorpion tail and attempting to sting each of them.
A game of dodge immediately began.
Just because Junith had told Doran to control himself and not be reckless didn't mean he completely stopped trying to attack. Doran repeatedly tried to strike the Chimera without a proper plan. At times, he managed to get close enough to hit it, but he also came dangerously close to being stung by its tail.
Junith moved with precision, doing just enough to keep the Chimera busy while continuing to think about their next move.
Sylra, meanwhile, was saving her magic for the battle ahead. The Chimera itself looked like it was merely warming up before revealing its true strength.
The second battle was underway as well.
