"She's not home. When will she be back?"
Upon hearing the knock on the door, Xiao Yue welcomed Zhong Xiaonan inside.
"I don't know either," Xiao Yue said.
"But you can wait here."
Xiao Yue knew Zhong Xiaonan's background, so she treated her very well.
"Well then, thank you."
Zhong Xiaonan didn't stand on ceremony. After all, it was a task assigned by the director, and it had to be completed.
So Xiao Yue led her to the balcony, to the spot where Shen Siyuan often sat.
"Are you the only one at home?" Zhong Xiaonan asked curiously.
She was very clear about the number of people in Shen Siyuan's family, hence the question.
"Yes, they're all out."
Xiao Yue poured Zhong Xiaonan a glass of water, then sat opposite her, picked up the book she hadn't finished reading, and continued reading in silence.
Zhong Xiaonan also took out her phone and began to browse through it. For a moment, the two sat in silence, neither finding it strange.
