Sister Mao tightly held the priceless jewels in her pocket with one hand and pushed the stroller with the other, her steps fast, almost breaking into a run.
She frequently glanced down at her daughter, her eyes filled with both tension and helplessness.
Tang Tang, however, had no understanding of her mother's anxiety. She lounged on the soft cushion of the stroller, her short legs gleefully swinging, and her chubby little hand occasionally touched the pearl necklace around her neck. Each touch made her let out an "oh", her eyes squinting with a smile like a little fox with a stolen treat.
All along the way, Sister Mao lowered her head and hurried past everyone she met, fearing someone would notice.
