Elias looked from the exosuit to Elara, then back to the exosuit.
The armor had too many straps for confidence. The leg frame alone looked like it had been designed by someone who thought knees were an optional inconvenience.
"You should probably wait outside while I wrestle with this thing," he said. "Unless military protocol includes supervising awkward changing attempts."
Elara blinked once. Color rose across her face before she turned toward the door. "Right, I will be outside, and you can call me when the suit wins."
She left too quickly to make it look casual.
Dot's hovered near Elias's ear. "Was that embarrassment, or did her face detect a temperature change?"
"I am not answering that while half undressed in a room full of cameras."
"There are no active cameras in this armory."
"That was not an invitation to continue."
