Chapter 68 - Splitting Up

Elias turned the diagram sideways, then decided it did not help.

"I have never built anything with this many parts on purpose," he said. "Avoiding embarrassment has not been my brand lately, so we might as well try this with Dot's helping."

Dot's floated down until both tiny hands hovered above the page. "I can try if you hold the picture steady and stop doubting me with your face."

"My face is asking fair questions."

Light gathered around Dot's palms.

Elias steadied the paper with both hands and tried to picture the receiver as more than a box. He imagined the weight first, then the casing, then the screen. The inside lost him almost immediately. The diagram used symbols he could repeat with his eyes but not understand in his head. Dot's pulled from him anyway.
