After everything was said and done, Thalos gathered Borfan's hollowed, frail body into his massive arms.
Grey, his movements heavy and labored, painstakingly opened a shimmering portal back to the Demonic Clan's territory, where Dame was still waiting anxiously at the base of the mountain.
On seeing the swirling rift of the portal open up, the young warrior jumped to his feet with a spark of hope.
However, that hope was instantly replaced by a cold dread when he saw Grey wobbling forward, the Supreme Magus barely maintaining his footing before collapsing onto his knees, bleeding and gasping for air.
Before Dame could even rush forward to assist the mage, he saw the towering silhouette of Thalos walking out, carrying the lifeless remains of his father.
