I closed my eyes in fear, while waiting for the worst to happen. For him to bring out his weapon, clearly meant that he'd not hesitate to kill me with it.
'Am I finally going to die' I thought. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. I really don't mind dying, I just want to reunite with my family and rest.
"You think you can escape from me, huh?" He dragged my hair in a forceful way. Making me open my eyes.
To be honest, I didn't even have the slightest idea about what he was talking about.
"Stop... Please, I beg of you..." I whispered in pain, his grip on my head tightening.
He stared at me with a sinister look, his eyes switching between gold and red, but for the briefest moment, his gaze faltered, as if questioning his own actions.
Then, with a sharp breath, he masked the hesitation.
"Since you're bold enough to defy me, you should be bold enough to face the consequences." He muttered.
"But..." I was immediately stopped from talking further when he slammed me against the wall.
The pain, so sharp assaulted me as I crumpled to the ground. Whimpering.
He made to leave the room, but he came back again. This time, he dragged someone in with him.
"You know her, right?" He spoke sinisterly.
I raised my throbbing head with difficulty to see who it was. Behold, it was that maid that I was with earlier.

Why is she here?
What did she did to? What's he planning to do to her?
Memory of the first maiden's twisted neck crossed my mind.
I had a million and one questions to ask at this very moment.
"Let go of her, please. She did do anything wrong!" I pleaded with the last iota of strength in me.
"You're such a monster" I shouted. My voice broken. Was he going to kill her too?
All of a sudden, he let go of her and matched towards me.
"You dare talk to me in that way?" He asked, raising his large palm and it connected with my cheek.
My head rang! The very mate that was supposed to love me, put an end to my misery, just laid his hands on me.
I suddenly felt furious at everything.
I just couldn't bear it again, and I spat on his face with a blood filled spittle.
"You'll leave a miserable lonely life Roman, and you'd also die an excruciating death." I cursed him, and at that moment something flickered in his eyes like light.
Immediately, he released me and he walked back to where the maiden was shivering and crying in fear, took back the dropped dagger.
"In your next life, you'll remember to never disobey your Alpha." He mumbled to her, and raised his dagger to stab her.
I closed my eyes as I screamed in fear and regret, standing up frantically, rushing towards him.
"Ma'am! Don't ever trust anyone in this castle. I was betrayed by that maiden that walked into this room. Also know that the Alpha's greater fear is being se..." her tears choked voice was cut short with stab to her chest.
He definitely didn't want me to hear what she was about to say.
"You're an heartless monster." I blurted. Crying hysterically.
At this very moment, I didn't care about whatever that might be my fate.
"I know." He replied with a cold voice.
He was unbelievable.
He stared at me deeply into my eyes, like he wanted to do or say something to me.
"There's something you still don't know..." He began.
"I don't care, and I don't want to know. Just get away from me, you freaking monster." I screamed.
"She did nothing wrong, she did nothing and yet you killed her" My clenched fists hitting his chest.
He didn't even move an inch. He gripped my face.
"Listen to me carefully, because I don't repeat myself. I bought you with my money, and I can choose to do whatever I want with you and your cheap body." His voice chilling.
"You're heartless. karma would surely come for you, soonest." I spat at him.
Each time that I say these kinds of words, I notice that his countenance changes instantly.
"I'm the karma." He laughed maniacally. but later, as he sat alone in his chambers, the laughter would echo back to him in the silence.
For a fleeting moment, doubt crept into his thoughts. Could he truly escape the consequences of his actions? The weight of his cruelty pressed against his chest, but he shoved the feeling aside, reminding himself that remorse was a weakness he couldn't afford.
The room fell quiet at that instant, and I could feel the tension in the room. My whole body was sore with bruises and I was bleeding from all the deep cuts on my body, courtesy of this monster.
"Since you despise me being your mate so much, then reject me and let me go, you lunatic" I screamed in frustration.
"I hate you, I wish you were not my mate"
An emotion flashed in his eyes at my words, but it disappeared quickly before I could register it.
"Let you go?" He scoffed, he started undoing his belt.
I backed out in fear. Is he going to whip me?
"Blame the moon goddess for pairing me with you" he snarled "cause dead or alive, you belong to me"
All of a sudden, he grabbed the top that I was wearing, but his grip loosened a bit as his eyes met mine.
"No... Don't do this to me, please." I begged in desperation and fear.
I thought my plea worked when he paused. Till he suddenly ripped my top apart.
I was doomed.
