Evin quickly tried to form another ice spear, but the wolf was already too close. Its massive body blurred as it lunged. Claws flashed.
"Watch out!" Dylan roared.
Evin barely had time to raise his arm.
Boom!
A blast of fire slammed into the wolf from the side. Major Kyle had stepped in. Flames erupted across the beast's shoulder and forced it to twist mid-air. The wolf crashed onto the asphalt and rolled several meters, its fur burning and smoking. But it did not stay down.
Grrrrr!
The beast pushed itself up immediately. Burned flesh was exposed beneath its scorched fur, but its red eyes burned with even greater fury.
"Damn thing's tough!" Dylan muttered.
The wolf lunged again. This time, Dylan intercepted it. He charged forward with explosive force and swung his fist.
Boom!
The punch slammed into the wolf's ribs. The impact echoed across the road. The beast staggered sideways but quickly recovered. Its claws whipped toward Dylan's chest.
