Dimitri unconsciously stiffened the moment he saw Alexander. Alexander's bloodshot eyes which locked onto him without wavering sent an unexpected chill down his spine.
'Shouldn't he be looking at his woman?' Dimitri wondered. He had planned to use any moment of distraction to escape. But Alexander hadn't even glanced at Ella.
"Take another step," Dimitri warned, dragging Ella closer and using her as a shield, "and I'll kill her."
"Kill her?" Alexander's voice dropped, his teeth clenched. "I dare you." His fists tightened at his sides. If not for Ella, Dimitri would already be on the ground.
Dimitri let out a mocking laugh. "You think I wouldn't? She is just a used bitch, you're too late, Alexander. She cried, she begged..."
"Liar!" Ella cut in, her voice trembling. "He's lying, Alex!"
Seeing that Alexander had come for her gave her hope, and she refuses to stay quiet, and let Dimitri hurt Alex with such slanderous lies.
