"You'd better not move an inch right now, or I swear I'll break your arm here and now," Cedric whispered, his voice low and sharp, right against the merchant boss's ear as the man lay pinned helpless beneath him.
The merchant boss said nothing at once in response to the threat Cedric had just spoken. Truth be told, he could feel his muscles pulled taut, straining painfully. Breathing hard and fast, he tilted his head upward, cold sweat trickling down his temples.
"Hah—you think I'll spill it that easily?" the boss growled, his voice rough and defiant. Honestly, this man truly had no clue just how hopeless his position was right now. He shook his head frantically from side to side, hoping his men and the mages he'd hired would come to his aid. After all, hadn't he paid them a fortune? Why weren't they here?
