Chapter 411 - Observation Before Extinction

The lizard didn't move.

Didn't rush.

His golden eyes remained locked onto the **Twin-Tailed Lightning Lynx** below.

*Fast…*

*Alert…*

*Reactive.*

A direct physical strike—

Would work.

But that wasn't the point.

*Test it.*

His focus shifted inward.

Not instinct.

Not reaction.

**Control.**

He recalled the sensation—

The structure of the Mind Ripper's attack.

Condensed.

Directed.

Aimed at the **consciousness**.

The lizard's presence stilled completely.

Then—

A ripple formed.

Invisible.

Silent.

But precise.

His mind sharpened, compressing that unfamiliar energy into a single point.

*Mind Shock.*

And then—

He released it.

The attack struck.

Directly.

No warning.

No buildup.

Below—

The lynx froze.

Mid-breath.

Its body locked for a fraction of a second—

Then—

"GRAA—!"

A sharp, distorted cry tore from its throat as its entire body jolted violently.

Its eyes widened, pupils shrinking as something invisible slammed into its mind.

Its limbs faltered.

Balance shattered.

The lightning gathering faintly around its tails flickered—

Then destabilized.

The lynx staggered back, claws digging into the ground as it struggled to steady itself.

Confusion.

Pain.

Disruption.

It didn't understand what had hit it.

Its instincts screamed—

But too late.

Above—

The lizard watched.

Carefully.

*…Effective.*

Not lethal.

But sufficient.

Enough to interrupt.

Enough to break rhythm.

Enough to create an opening.

His tail flicked once.

Satisfied.

Because this time—

He had felt it.

Controlled it.

Used it—

**On command.**

Below—

The lynx shook its head violently, trying to recover. Its breathing turned uneven, its senses thrown into disarray.

But the damage was done.

And the lizard—

Was already moving.

No hesitation.

No wasted motion.

His body blurred through the air, descending like a silent strike, closing the distance before the lynx could fully recover.

Below—

The Twin-Tailed Lightning Lynx snarled, instincts screaming as it forced its body to respond. Lightning flared along both tails, crackling wildly—

Unstable.

Its senses were still disoriented.

Its mind hadn't caught up.

Too slow.

The lizard appeared—

Right above it.

Golden eyes cold.

Focused.

His tail lashed out.

**Fast.**

The lynx reacted on instinct, twisting sharply. One tail snapped upward, lightning bursting outward—

**Clash—**

Sparks exploded as the strike barely deflected the lizard's tail.

But only barely.

The force still carried through—

Sliding past the lightning—

**Tearing** across the lynx's side.

Blood sprayed.

The lynx cried out, its body thrown off balance again as it stumbled back, claws carving trenches into the earth.

It tried to counter—

Both tails whipping forward—

Lightning surging outward in a wide arc—

But—

The lizard was already gone.

Gone from where he struck.

Reappearing to the side.

Silent.

Unseen.

Untouchable.

The lynx spun wildly, eyes darting, trying to lock onto something—anything—

But there was nothing.

Only the faint disturbance left behind.

Panic crept in.

Because this wasn't a normal fight.

This wasn't something it could track.

Predict.

Or react to.

Another ripple—

*There—!*

Too late.

The lizard appeared again—

Closer.

His jaws opened—

And snapped toward the lynx's neck.

The lynx twisted desperately, one tail intercepting—lightning exploding outward—

But the bite still connected—

**Crunch—**

Teeth scraped across scale—

Partially piercing.

Not a clean kill—

But enough.

The poison entered.

The lynx leapt back immediately, forcing distance. Its body dropped low, breathing heavy, lightning flaring wildly around it.

Injured.

Disoriented.

Poisoned.

Its chances collapsed instantly.

Above—

The lizard didn't pursue.

Not yet.

He hovered.

Watching.

Analyzing.

*Mind Shock—disrupts.*

*Follow-up—guaranteed contact.*

His eyes glowed faintly.

Because now—

He wasn't just fighting.

He was refining.

Perfecting.

Below—

The lynx's movements had already begun to slow.

Its muscles strained, forcing motion against the poison spreading through its veins.

Lightning flared—

Wild.

Uncontrolled.

It shot forward, aiming for the trees—

Escape.

Distance.

Survival.

It didn't get far.

A ripple in the air—

Then—

**Wind blades** carved across its path.

The lynx skidded to a halt, claws ripping into the ground as it was forced to change direction.

It turned sharply—

Another route—

Another chance—

**Earth spears** erupted from the ground ahead.

Blocking.

Forcing it back.

Its breathing grew heavier.

Erratic.

The poison spread faster now.

Its limbs responded slower.

Its mind—

Still unstable.

Still fractured.

Above—

The lizard hovered.

Unmoving.

Golden eyes tracking every motion.

Every attempt.

Every failure.

He didn't rush.

Didn't press.

Didn't finish it.

*Observe.*

The lynx tried again—

Leaping upward, lightning bursting from its tails to propel it into the trees—

A sudden gust—

A compressed force of wind—

**Slammed** into it mid-air.

It was thrown back down.

Hard.

Crashing into the ground with a heavy impact.

The lightning around it flickered—

Then weakened.

Its body trembled as it struggled to rise.

But slower now.

Weaker.

Its eyes darted—searching—

But there was nothing to find.

No visible enemy.

No clear direction.

Only pressure.

Only control.

Only inevitability.

Minutes passed.

Not many—

But enough.

The lynx's movements slowed further.

Its breaths became shallow.

Unsteady.

Its legs gave out once—

Then again—

Until finally—

It collapsed.

Its body twitching faintly as the last of its strength faded.

The lightning around it dimmed—

Then disappeared.

Silence returned.

Above—

The lizard watched.

Still.

Unmoved.

Until—

The moment came.

The exact moment—

Life left the body.

His eyes dimmed slightly.

*Confirmed.*

Only then—

Did he descend.

Behind her—

The lizard shifted slightly.

His body began to shrink once more, scales compressing, presence folding inward until he returned to his smaller form.

Then—

He leapt.

Landing gently between her ears.

Silent.

Familiar.

Almost weightless.

A faint shimmer passed over him—

And he vanished.

Invisible once more.

A second later—

That same invisibility spread outward—

Cloaking the fox as well.

Her form blurred—

Then disappeared completely.

Only the faintest distortion in the air remained.

The fox smirked slightly, unseen.

"Let's go."

She stepped forward.

Light.

Soundless.

Moving deeper into the forest once again—

Two predators hidden from the world.

Hunting.
