Rohen's strength far exceeded everyone's expectations. This was especially true for Salo, whose eyes were now filled with disbelief and whose heart was shaken beyond measure.
He had never imagined that this young man could be so powerful. Wizards often associate a person's power with their age.
"This is incredible!"
Salo muttered to himself with a look of respect appearing in his eyes.
A powerhouse is worthy of respect at any time. This young man, who wore the Barut Ring and possessed immense strength, was their new king, no one would oppose him.
Abdon's power had surpassed all of Barut's. He was once a being who made all the wizards of the kingdom tremble in fear. Now, he was dead—killed by this new king.
Abdon had nearly destroyed half of the kingdom's island, showcasing his unmatched strength. Yet an even stronger figure stood there now.
After coming to their senses, the people quickly stepped forward.
"Your Majesty!" Asi excitedly knelt on one knee, and the guard mages knelt behind him, their faces filled with respect.
"Your Majesty!"
At the same time, the other wizards bowed, their eyes brimming with excitement.
"I never imagined...never imagined that you possessed such power." Salo's face flushed red as he recalled his earlier doubts. He now felt deeply embarrassed.
"Abdon was very powerful. Unfortunately, his vision was too narrow." Rojen sighed as he looked at the approaching crowd.
Although he hadn't been in the country long, he had already grasped the general situation. The nation was indeed strong, but after fifty years of isolation, it had fallen far behind the rest of the world.
"Everyone, rise. First, calculate the losses on this island and report them to me. Also, extinguish the fires still burning across the island as quickly as possible."
He gave his orders without refusing the title of King; this position would be an important step for his future plans.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Salo and the others stood up. Soon, Asi commanded the arriving mages to scatter and put out the fires and lightning caused by the recent battle.
"The King's Palace…" Rojen glanced again at the collapsed palace and shook his head.
The royal palace was clearly unusable now. Abdon's forbidden chant had covered a vast area, turning the entire palace into ruins.
"We will soon order alchemy mages to rebuild the royal palace. It won't take long, Your Majesty." Gerone spoke quickly.
"Good." Rojen nodded.
He had only just begun to understand magic; he didn't yet grasp its principles or the extent of the miracles it could achieve.
"What about the rebels? How should we deal with them?" Asi raised the question again.
After a brief moment of thought, Rojen quickly made his decision: "Execute the ringleaders. Accept the surrender of the rest, disband their units, and let them start again as ordinary soldiers."
"Understood!" Asi responded enthusiastically.
"Secondly, investigate those who have suffered under Abdon's actions over the years. Allocate part of the national treasury to assist them." Rojen continued after some thought.
The crimes caused by Abdon's training in magic were certainly numerous. These people needed comfort and support as well. Upon hearing this order, the wizards showed expressions of relief and quiet joy.
They naturally did not wish for Rojen to be a tyrannical ruler. They didn't ask for a king with great achievements; having a normal, just ruler was more than enough.
"Other matters can wait three days. Announce to the entire nation that this King has ascended the throne!"
One order after another was issued from Rojen. His Haki emanated outward. The majesty of a king radiated from him without anger, requiring no cultivation or preparation. His natural talent allowed him to handle everything with ease.
"Yes!" The wizards standing before him departed one by one.
These elder wizards were the kingdom's remaining strongest forces. Their authority and reputation were sufficient, spreading the news would encounter no resistance.
After giving these instructions, Rojen dismissed everyone.
Because of the battle between the two, King's Island was already in a half-ruined state. Yet as Rojen passed through, he saw that the mage craftsmen were astonishingly efficient, within just three minutes, some buildings had already been partially restored.
Meanwhile, the potionists led by Torons were tending to the wounded. Under Asi's guidance, Rojen and Lordling, along with Robin, were arranged to stay in an ancient castle.
"Your Majesty, for these three days, please rest here. Leave everything else to us!" Asi said excitedly.
The ascension of the new King and the death of the tyrant were undoubtedly momentous celebrations for all the people of Barut. Moreover, these old fellows had kept a low profile for far too long, this time, they finally had a chance to step forward.
Assisting the new King in taking the throne, anyone knew what that meant!
"Alright." Rojen nodded.
The ancient castle carried a mysterious and unique atmosphere. Asi quickly withdrew to handle affairs, leaving only Lordling, Robin, and Rojen inside.
"Sit down. From now on, I'm the king of this country. Haha, no need to worry." Rojen said with a smile.
"Rojen, what exactly is going on? How did you become the king of this country? I was already curious earlier, some of them were calling you 'Your Majesty,' but it wasn't convenient to ask." Lordling asked curiously.
"By a stroke of luck, I obtained the king's token… this." Rojen revealed the Barut Ring on his finger. "Whoever possesses this ring is the king of the Barut Kingdom. This is the inheritance passed down through generations of kings."
"How fascinating. To think such an ancient method of succession still exists." Robin said in surprise.
"Alright, you'll both be safe from now on. The one I was most worried about… was you." Rojen said gently, looking at Lordling.
"From now on, I never want to be separated from you again. And Robin too… Rojen, we must protect Robin well. She's too pitiful!" Lordling pulled Robin closer while speaking.
The latter looked at Rojen with curiosity. The fear and unfamiliarity she initially had were already gone. From her first impression, in Robin's eyes, this was a king with great power but an easygoing personality.
"Robin, I've heard of you, the 'Devil Child' with a bounty of 80 million." Rojen said with a smile.
Hearing this, Robin stepped back, a trace of vigilance appearing in her eyes. Too many people, upon hearing of that high bounty, had tried to capture her.
"Robin, don't worry. The guy in front of you has a bounty ten times yours, he's far more dangerous than you."
Lordling teased, having noticed her reaction.
"Ten times?!" Robin looked at Rojen in shock.
Her bounty was 80 million. Ten times that would be 800 million!
"I've heard about the Ohara incident. The World Government chose to destroy it to conceal something. But the more they want to hide it, the more we must uncover it!" Rojen's gaze sharpened as he spoke in a low voice. "With me, you don't need to worry. No one will be able to lay a hand on you again!"
