Rumble!
Three breaths later, everyone present was trembling violently as they stared at the scene before them in utter disbelief.
Najenda and her companions felt as if they were trapped in a dream, their gazes fixed on the massive breach in the city wall ahead. A gaping ravine stretched through the dust-choked air, the sheer devastation leaving them utterly stunned.
With a single strike, Qin Yi had cleaved the city gate in half.
The armored general who had stood at the gate's center had vanished without a trace, while the soldiers had been annihilated by the same strike.
Scorched marks now snaked across the ground, extending deep into the city.
"See? The path is clear now," Qin Yi said indifferently, striding forward.
"So... so strong!" Leone exclaimed, awestruck.
As she walked, she couldn't tear her eyes away from the colossal breach in the wall. She still couldn't believe that a single strike had caused such devastation. Even cannon fire couldn't have breached a wall over ten meters thick! Yet this man had accomplished it effortlessly.
Unbelievable! It defied all common sense, shattering her very worldview!
At that moment, the remaining soldiers trembled uncontrollably, unsure how to confront Qin Yi and his group.
They had every reason to believe this human was no longer human at all!
"Don't engage him again!"
"He's like General Esdeath, he can't be threatened by anything less than tens of thousands of soldiers!"
"No, with such power, numbers might be completely irrelevant to him now!"
An officer, his forehead slick with cold sweat, warned everyone in a trembling voice.
To cleave through the city gate with a single strike, such power, he knew, even General Esdeath couldn't achieve!
Qin Yi led the group, still dazed as if in a dream, through the breached city walls. He stopped just inside.
"Tell us your original mission objective!" Najenda, snapping out of her daze, shot Qin Yi a deep look before speaking quickly.
"Kill Minister Honest! He's the root of this nation's turmoil!"
"And we need to be cautious… "
Before she could finish, Qin Yi raised a hand to cut her off.
"Just one person? That's too easy."
With a flick of his right hand, Qin Yi tossed Murasame into the air. Before the stunned eyes of the onlookers, the blade hovered mid-air.
"What's this?!"
Qin Xiyao seemed to recognize something, her expression alight with excitement.
"I possess a sword, forged for the people of Cangsheng!"
"But this realm's power is too weak. To slay a chicken, one need not wield a butcher's cleaver. Murasame will suffice!"
As he spoke calmly, brilliant Starlight suddenly erupted from Murasame, causing the blade to tremble violently.
"Xiyao, since you wished to witness the art of the flying sword..."
"Then your brother shall show you!"
With that, Qin Yi formed a sword-finger with his right hand and thrust it forward sharply.
"Go!"
Instantly, amidst a blinding flash of Starlight, Murasame soared into the sky with unbelievable speed, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
This spectacle stunned Akame and the others. They had never witnessed such a miraculous sight before.
The longsword, having slipped from Qin Yi's grasp, soared through the air on its own.
"Cultivation restrictions prevent me from sending a sword flying thousands of miles just yet," Qin Yi mused, "but from here, beheading Minister Honest in the imperial palace is child's play!"
Qin Yi led the group forward, brazenly striding ahead and completely ignoring the growing number of soldiers lining the streets.
Two breaths later, Qin Yi's brow suddenly furrowed.
"These flies are becoming increasingly numerous!"
Najenda's expression tightened with tension, while Tatsumi and the others broke into a cold sweat. In a short span, the number of soldiers had already swelled to nearly twenty thousand!
"Then you shall all take a good rest!"
Qin Yi suddenly stepped forward, his pupils blazing with light. An overwhelming surge of King's Haki erupted from him, rolling outward to crush the empty air ahead.
In an instant, the air seemed to cave inward, distorting violently as a raging wind pressure howled through the streets.
Woom!
A domineering gale swept out in all directions, its touch causing every soldier to roll their eyes back and collapse limply to the ground.
"King's Dignity!"
Having converted all his internal energy into Starlight power, Qin Yi executed this unique Skill(s) with effortless ease, as naturally as a novice plucking a flower.
In the blink of an eye, the tempestuous storm roared, spreading outward with overwhelming force.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
A cascade of bodies hit the ground. No one could withstand such terrifying majesty and the will of a true king.
"Wh-what's happening?"
"What's going on? What's wrong with them?"
The soldiers in the rear, still untouched by the storm, screamed in terror.
But soon, they too followed suit, collapsing limply and losing consciousness.
"Much cleaner now," Qin Yi remarked indifferently.
He continued to forge ahead, clearing the path. Behind him, Najenda and the others were speechless. This young man's performance far exceeded their expectations. They even wondered in their hearts: Is he human or divine?
It was utterly unbelievable! How could a mere human possess such overwhelming power?
After taking another ten steps forward, Qin Yi suddenly slowed his pace.
"Oh? Found them!"
"There are three of them!"
...
In the Imperial Palace.
Minister Honest was currently with the Little Emperor, while General Bud stood rigidly below them, his face cold as stone.
"General Bud," Honest said, biting off a chunk of meat, his eyes narrowing into slits as he grinned. "I hear Night Raid has brazenly launched attacks outside the city walls. Why haven't you crushed these rebels yet?"
"This country has fallen into this state because of you, Honest!" General Bud snorted coldly. "Once I've annihilated the rebels, I won't spare you!"
Honest's pupils constricted briefly before he resumed his smarmy smile. "Then I'll trouble you to hurry back, General Bud!"
"Serving our King, contributing to the Empire, these are the duties of a General like yourself!" the Little Emperor chimed in with a laugh.
"General Bud," the Little Emperor added, still smiling. "I hear you're the strongest person in our nation. Make sure you return victorious!"
"I await your good news!"
Bud let out an angry snort. Powerless before the Emperor, he could only bow and obey.
Turning to leave the Palace Hall, Bud's pupils suddenly contracted.
"Watch out!!!"
He roared, his eyes wide with shock.
A dazzling light, initially visible in the sky beyond the palace walls, surged into the chamber in an instant.
His heart jolted violently as he spun around to see.
Whoosh!
His gaze landed just in time to witness the starlight encircle Honest's neck.
Fast! Too fast! Like lightning, utterly beyond human reaction.
Even now, the cold smile lingered on Honest's face.
"General Bud, what's wrong?" the Little Emperor asked.
"He..." General Bud managed only a single word.
Then, Honest's head severed from his neck, crimson blood spraying across the Little Emperor's face, freezing him in terror.
Simultaneously, a longsword shimmering with starlight materialized in mid-air.
"Since we've crossed paths, might as well kill them all," Qin Yi murmured coldly, his gaze icy as he stepped through the city gates.
Inside the Palace Hall, the longsword's tip swiveled, aiming directly at the Little Emperor.
A chill ran through Bud, a wave of terror washing over him.
"No! Impossible!"
