The morning light peered through the clouds.
Kailen appeared in the clouds somewhere in the southern mountain range. This was the place where the chimera creature—with the tail of a fish, limbs of a lion, and the head of a serpent—that Kailen had encountered after killing its kin some years past had been.
Kailen had returned here to hunt for Rank 2 novice-stage chaotic beasts. Kailen recalled that a lot of space principle chaotic beasts dwelt here. Several chaotic beasts were gliding through the clouds, making beast sounds. They would meld with the void and reappear somewhere in the clouds. Some of the creatures were very large, blotting out the skies. Others were tiny.
