It was only the second day since we had returned.
The house looked the same, but we were different. The air between us was clear.
We were in the living room, Jun-ho reviewing some documents before starting work while I finished reading a book, when we heard a commotion in the hallway.
Raised voices. The sound of bodies slamming against the wall.
— Sir, you cannot enter! — It was Ashita's voice.
— I need to speak with them! Get out of my way!
Jun-ho looked up from his papers, his expression hardening instantly. I recognized the voice. My stomach tied in a knot, but not out of fear. Out of sadness.
Someone pounded on the double doors with force, almost a punch.
Jun-ho signaled for me to stay behind him and walked to the door. He opened it.
In the hallway, Ashita had just tackled Tariq to the ground. She kept his hands pinned, his face pressed against the cold floor. Ashita had her hand on her weapon.
