And so, the three of them got into the car together.
As a high-end limousine, the back seats were arranged around a square table, allowing everyone to sit facing each other.
He Kui and Lacus sat together, while Cagalli sat across from them.
Though inwardly resentful of Lacus for barging in, the young woman couldn't show it outright.
"May I ask what kind of relationship Miss Lacus has with Councilor He?"
Cagalli asked with a stiff smile on her lips.
"What kind of relationship do you think it is, Miss Cagalli?"
Lacus replied, her hand naturally grasping He Kui's as if declaring ownership.
"Ahem."
Under Cagalli's strange gaze, He Kui coughed awkwardly.
"Well—"
Before he could finish, Cagalli, now aware of the truth, didn't hold back. She leaned forward over the table, pressing close to He Kui as if performing a Wall Slam, pinning him against the car seat.
"Safety first…"
Meeting Cagalli's fiery gaze, He Kui averted his eyes and muttered.
Not giving him a chance to continue, Cagalli sealed his lips with a kiss.
"…"
Witnessing this, not only He Kui but even Lacus was momentarily stunned.
After all, in her view, the young woman should have little experience in such matters and ought to be more reserved. Yet here she was, kissing He Kui while Lacus was still holding his hand.
Joining in was clearly out of the question.
But as Lacus watched the increasingly intimate movements between the two and heard the increasingly improper sounds, she instinctively licked her lips like a kitten.
Realizing what she had done, Lacus flushed with embarrassment and pressed her high-heeled shoe onto He Kui's foot.
Caught between two fronts, He Kui was now experiencing both pain and pleasure.
"We'll talk later."
Seizing a brief moment when Cagalli pulled back for air, He Kui murmured against her lips.
"Oh~"
This was the first time Cagalli had done something like this in front of another woman. Her face was slightly flushed, her heart filled with shyness.
But thinking she had successfully staked her claim, that shyness was quickly suppressed. She turned to Lacus with a hint of pride. "I didn't realize you two were so close."
"It seems PLANT alone can't satisfy Councilor He anymore?"
Lacus chuckled under Cagalli's gaze.
"We're in love!"
Cagalli huffed.
"Is that so? What a coincidence."
Lacus laughed again, and before He Kui could react, she pressed her lips to his.
Now it was Cagalli's turn to be stunned. Watching the two, she suddenly thought of something.
After a brief hesitation, Cagalli extended her slender fingers toward He Kui's vulnerable spot.
"…"
Feeling Cagalli's clumsy technique, He Kui, now thoroughly stifled, seriously suspected these two were teaming up to mess with him.
By all accounts, he was the one being ganged up on here.
As He Kui pondered this, the car gradually slowed after exiting the highway. Finally, Lacus released him.
However, due to the continuous exertion, the two remained connected by glistening strands even after separating, creating a rather ambiguous scene.
"We're almost there."
Lacus clicked her tongue inwardly as she watched Cagalli's movements but still raised an eyebrow and spoke.
"..."
He Kui was speechless. Although they were still about two kilometers from the hotel, walking out in this state would surely earn him another dubious title to add to his existing reputation. The thought alone was terrifying. Moreover, the combined fanbases of these two women could probably drown him.
As these thoughts crossed his mind, his expression grew even more helpless.
Seeing He Kui's frustrated yet powerless expression, Lacus was satisfied.
Cagalli, though displeased, couldn't simply get out of the car now that they were almost there. Her clothes were disheveled, wrinkled, and slightly revealing—if she stepped out like this, the reputation of the Orb Princess would be ruined.
In summary, the three of them finally returned to their respective seats and silently began tidying themselves up.
"Can you hold back?"
Lacus 'considerately' leaned closer to He Kui and asked.
"..."
Not a single mistake, not a single word, not a single detail—everything was as it should be!
Looking at the mischievous Lacus and catching the faint fragrance lingering in the air, He Kui's gaze darkened.
"If Miss Lacus comes any closer, I really won't hold back."
Letting Lacus continue her scheming and only reacting passively was not his style. With that, He Kui launched his own offensive without restraint.
"Stop!"
As things threatened to escalate further, under Cagalli's strange gaze from across the seat, Lacus finally couldn't hold back and spoke.
"Fine, what a shame."
With time truly running short, neither dared to continue.
Meanwhile, Cagalli shot He Kui a resentful glare before placing her hands on his councilor's uniform. She smoothed it out gently, adopting a demure demeanor.
"We're about to arrive! Honestly."
Her lips pouted adorably as she muttered, and with Cagalli's help, He Kui soon returned to his original appearance from when they had first entered the car. Through sheer willpower, both managed to regain their composure.
As for what lay beneath the surface—well, it was as fiery as the artificial sun outside.
"Then please follow me, Miss Cagalli."
He Kui smiled at Cagalli as he spoke.
"Alright."
Though the two appeared normal, Erica's scrutinizing gaze held a trace of doubt. After all, Cagalli's ears were far too red. But surely not? Lacus was there too. Erica had only allowed Cagalli to go because she knew Lacus was accompanying them. There was no way He Kui could have... with both of them inside the car. Impossible! Absolutely impossible! They were two princesses—how could something like that happen?!
Shocked by her own thoughts, Erica quickened her pace, silently repeating reassurances to herself. There was no way the child she had watched grow up could be taken advantage of by He Kui. She would never allow it!
Unaware of Erica's agitation, the group soon arrived at the hotel's reception hall. The setup was quite formal, with representatives from both sides seated on either end.
After inviting He Kui to take a seat, Cagalli rose from her own chair.
"Regarding this incident, first allow me to apologize on behalf of Orb to Councilor He Kui."
Cagalli gave a slight bow.
It wasn't an overly deep gesture, but considering she was representing Orb at this moment, He Kui found no reason to be dissatisfied.
