The sight of him made Anya's chest tighten instantly.
In only a few seconds he already looked worn down.
His clothes were torn badly around his ribs and chest. Blood stained parts of his shirt and bruises had already formed beneath his skin. His breathing was steady but heavier now, controlled through visible pain.
And yet…
His eyes remained calm.
Focused.
The vampire stood up as well.

The blood-red armor beneath it pulsed faintly beneath the moonlight like something alive. Strange energy radiated from it now, thick and oppressive enough to make even the surrounding werewolves uneasy.

And curled his fingers.

Provocative.
Mocking.
Like he was inviting Liam to continue entertaining him.
