Chapter 559 - Officer Jenny's Support

Faced with Shiro's questioning gaze, Officer Jenny answered truthfully, "This Growlithe seems to only need normal training to reach the Champion-level within half a year."

"Oh?" Shiro slowly nodded.

As a Growlithe trainer himself, he naturally knew the Pokémon's condition. Growlithe's natural talent was already excellent, and it had received plenty of resources and training. It also had no hidden injuries from extreme battles. As long as it had enough resources, reaching the Champion-level within half a year would not be difficult at all.

It was said that some genius trainers with equally gifted Pokémon could even reach the Master-level within a year...

Of course, Shiro had only heard about such things from Oak.

He had brought it up to test Officer Jenny and see whether she was truly sincere or would exaggerate the facts just to gain an opportunity.

If she chose to hide the truth and promised that Growlithe could reach the Champion-level within half a year, Shiro would have no choice but to use his Psychic abilities to find out whether this Jenny family, which specialized in Arcanine, truly had the strength they claimed.

Out of caution, he hadn't casually used his Psychic abilities on the members of these two major Kanto families. He didn't want to leave behind any traces that could be detected.

Even if the deal failed and they couldn't cooperate, there was no reason to create a grudge that might cause trouble later. Of course, if something unexpected happened, he could only resort to such measures.

After pondering for a moment, Shiro asked, "How much can your Jenny family provide? If you provide the resources Growlithe needs, along with the resources you mentioned that can greatly improve its aptitude and growth rate... I need it to make a major breakthrough within half a year."

"Champion-level!" Officer Jenny answered without hesitation. "We can definitely raise it to the Champion-level! There will be no limit on the resources we provide."

"Furthermore, during the next six months, before the Indigo Plateau Conference, we will provide enough Exp. Candies every month for six Elite-level Pokémon!"

As soon as she heard the time limit of half a year, Officer Jenny naturally thought of the Indigo Plateau Conference.

According to what her family had said, this should be the final and most important national tournament. It would also be the fiercest one. At that time, outstanding trainers under the age of thirty-five from every region of the League would gather in Kanto to compete for the championship.

After all, the reward for winning the championship... was becoming the Champion itself!

It was the Champion of the Kanto League as a whole!

Many Kanto families were already secretly preparing their participants. Neither the Joy nor Jenny families were skilled in battle, and the Pokémon within their families were too specialized, making it impossible for them to rely on their own family members to compete for a good ranking.

Many powerful trainers who had married into the Joy and Jenny families were either already over the age limit or had already entered the competition on behalf of another faction.

As for ordinary Gym and quasi-Elite level trainers, the two families could easily recruit them. However, winning the championship, or even reaching the top four, was still far beyond their abilities.

The elders of the family had asked Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy to approach Shiro in order to find out whether he had already joined another faction and whether he could become someone they might recruit.

Now, it seemed there might actually be a chance.

Two faint blushes appeared on Officer Jenny's cheeks from excitement.

Shiro was also very satisfied with the conditions she had offered.

Exp. Candies were crystals formed after a certain kind of energy had accumulated and settled over a long period. They contained the purest form of energy and could be directly absorbed by any Pokémon.

Most of these crystals were found in certain ruins.

Exp. Candies were often even more expensive than Evolution Stones. They were usually something money couldn't easily buy.

That was why, back in Galar, Macro Cosmos would routinely send two Elite-level trainers to explore the ruins throughout the region and collect Exp. Candies for them. It was an incredibly extravagant arrangement.

At the time, Shiro had simply thought it was normal.

Two veteran trainers could easily bring out a large bag of Exp. Candies. They could eat one after another without worrying about running out.

Naturally, Shiro had no objections to Officer Jenny's conditions and agreed immediately. He then looked toward Nurse Joy and asked, "I wonder if the Joy family can provide the corresponding resources for the Pokémon I have?"

If the Joy family had resources for Corviknight, then he would naturally prioritize working with them.

Unfortunately, the Joy family was based in Kanto and was mainly familiar with Pokémon that possessed healing abilities. How could they possibly have resources for Galar's Corviknight? They might have barely even heard the name before.

Nurse Joy's small face turned pale. Knowing she had no chance of winning, she didn't continue to argue and decisively chose to leave. "Professor Shiro, although we cannot form an alliance, the Joy family's friendship with you will never change. If you ever need anything, you can still come to us."

With that, Nurse Joy turned around and left.

Only after her figure disappeared into the orchard did Officer Jenny nervously speak. "Professor Shiro..."

"Just call me by my name." Shiro waved his hand.

Officer Jenny quickly adjusted and asked, "Shiro, you're going to participate in the Indigo Plateau Conference, right?"

Shiro nodded. "That's right."

"Has someone already invited you in advance?" she asked cautiously.

"Yes." Shiro didn't hide it and answered directly. "Elite Agatha invited me to participate in the Indigo Plateau Conference. If the Jenny family wants me to represent you, I'm afraid that won't be possible."

Officer Jenny's eyes lit up, and she quickly waved her hands. "No, no, you've misunderstood. Elite Agatha and the Jenny family are both part of Chairman Goodshow's faction. There is no conflict."

They were all part of the League Chairman's faction, but that didn't mean everyone within the faction was completely united.

Agatha was only one person. She had invited Shiro to the tournament to carry out Chairman Goodshow's arrangements and prevent people outside the established rules from entering the League's upper ranks… such as certain nobles and members of criminal organizations.

"This won't affect our cooperation." Officer Jenny smiled warmly. "The Jenny family will become your support team for the tournament. As long as there is something you need and we are capable of providing it, we will meet your requirements."

"As for the resources and information related to training Growlithe, they will be delivered to Birch Research Institute this afternoon."

She gave a slight bow and handed him her contact number. "This is my phone number. If you have any problems, you can contact me at any time."

Shiro nodded and accepted it.

Officer Jenny stared at him with a burning gaze for a moment longer. When she ultimately received no response, she left with a slightly disappointed expression.

The two of them left the orchard together. By the time they reached the entrance of Birch Research Institute, one of the cars parked outside was already gone.

Soyln stood at the entrance waiting for them and waved goodbye to Officer Jenny.

The blue and white police vehicle slowly drove away from Littleroot Town.

Inside the car, Officer Jenny quickly picked up the phone and called one of the elders in her family.

"Is that Clara? How did your meeting with the new Professor go?" an elderly voice asked calmly.

"We've already obtained the agency rights." Officer Jenny first briefly reported the result of the mission before going into greater detail.

A short while later, the old woman from the Jenny family hung up the phone with satisfaction.
