My hands were wrapped around Ivy's midsection as I tried to pull her back.
"Let me go! Damien! You motherfucker! Damien!" She yelled, but he had given me a task.
Ivy used her elbow to hit my fucking nose. "What the fuck!?" I exclaimed as blood ran down my nose. My hand held it, the pain making my eyes sting.
"We need to go back!" Yet I could still hear the growling. No.
"What we need to do is go to safety. Do not argue with me, Ivy. I left my fucking husband out there, so you will come with me. We need to protect the people there." Ivy's eyes shifted back to the bunker door, then back at me.
For the first time, tears welled up in those sea-blue eyes. She shut her eyes, then opened them again. "Let's go."
We caught up with the rest of the group. They were already in the forest headed to the mountain.
Arc spotted us first. "Oh my goddess. Are you guys okay?" Daya hugged me and patted Ivy's shoulder.
"Where is Damien? I can't smell him." Regulus suddenly asked.
