Chapter 607 - Chapter 607: The Last Thing She Still Had

Watching the armies below collapse under the force of his magic, Noah slowly descended from the sky.

There were still many stragglers fleeing in all directions, but Noah couldn't be bothered to waste mana on them.

Besides, Fat Thor had already emerged with a large group of people. The situation was clearly under control.

All that remained was to catch the Valkyrie who was preparing to skip town.

Indeed, once this Valkyrie realized things were going south, she decisively hopped into her ship and made a run for it.

It was clear she was very sensible-though that "sensibility" also had something to do with the fact that she had been spectating from the sidelines the entire time.

While Noah was dealing with the main force, her ship had been hovering at the far edge of the battlefield.

Her plan was obvious.

If Noah, this wizard, died, she would step in without hesitation to deliver the finishing blow.

She wouldn't gain much glory, but at least it would look like she had contributed.

But if the wizard proved too strong and their forces were wiped out-something she had considered unlikely-she could decisively evacuate this godforsaken place.

Reality, however, enjoyed jokes.

And this time, the Valkyrie felt she had encountered the biggest joke of her life.

That wizard had routed the entire army single-handedly.

The rampaging fire dragons and the wizard standing calmly in the sky sent a chill straight through her heart.

So she made a decision immediately.

Get out.

As fast as possible.

Everything she did was clearly visible to Noah.

He had even guessed much of what she was thinking.

As for her attempt to run, Noah didn't take it personally.

He had locked onto her from the start.

Moments earlier, he had deliberately left a mark on her ship.

So escape was never a concern.

Glancing at the group of rescued slaves watching him uneasily, Noah flickered with pale gold light and appeared beside Fat Thor.

"Settled? Looks like things went smoothly for you."

He patted Fat Thor on the shoulder, then turned toward the newly liberated slaves.

"Could you stop looking at me like that? I'm with this big guy. Besides, I just saved you from a massive headache."

"Your performance was a little too terrifying," Fat Thor said with a bitter smile.

"If I hadn't seen it before, even I might not have handled it. Also, could you stop disappearing like that? It's a bit much for me."

"I know you don't have a heart condition," Noah nodded.

"Is the ship ready?"

"Where would I have found time for that?" Fat Thor sighed.

"I just got out. By the way, did you see the Valkyrie?"

Noah nodded and pointed toward the distance.

Fat Thor finally relaxed.

He had genuinely been worried Noah might have accidentally wiped out the Valkyrie currently serving on Sakaar.

Now, that clearly hadn't happened.

What reassured him even more was that Noah had left a mark on her.

Otherwise, Noah wouldn't have been able to indicate her location so precisely.

Clearly, Noah was taking this seriously.

Nodding, Fat Thor led the rescued group to find a ship.

Since Noah was prepared, there was nothing else he needed to worry about.

He would deal with these people first.

Everything else could wait.

Fat Thor also had other matters to handle-such as convincing them to go to Asgard.

Or rather, to that stretch of land on Earth where Asgard was being established in another universe.

Noah had no interest in participating.

Deep down, he didn't want them coming to Earth.

If they did, the Ministry of Magic would inevitably need to allocate manpower to monitor them.

Unless they made direct contact with the ordinary world, which would save the wizarding world a lot of trouble.

Fortunately, the final decision spared Noah the headache.

These aliens didn't know what Earth was, but they knew Asgard.

One of the super empires of the neighboring galaxy.

That reputation was entirely thanks to Odin.

The old man had built Asgard's name so large that even neighboring universes had heard of it.

People always left their own reality.

And when they returned, they talked.

Naturally, Asgard's name spread.

So their choice wasn't surprising at all.

After some searching, they quickly found a ship large and stable enough.

Fat Thor set the coordinates and let them depart on their own.

That alone was already going above and beyond.

If they changed course midway, there was nothing he could do.

He had done all he could.

The rest was up to them.

"Alright, problem solved." Watching the ship lift off smoothly, Fat Thor smiled at Noah.

"Thank you, Noah. Without you, none of this would've gone well."

"Forget it," Noah waved it off.

"If everything goes smoothly, how long will it take them to reach Asgard?"

"If they don't change course, three to five days," Fat Thor said after some thought.

"Time dilation might affect it, but roughly that."

"That's not bad." Noah nodded, pale gold light gathering around him again.

"Let's go. Time to finish the last task."

That task, of course, was the Valkyrie.

At this moment, she was stopped in a "junk heap" several hundred kilometers away.

Calling it a junk heap was generous.

It was technically a residential area, but the environment was abysmal.

The Grandmaster and his people had dumped all their waste there and stripped every usable resource, leaving it like this.

It had to be said.

The values of this universe were savage.

Their technology surpassed Earth's by an absurd margin, yet they had no concept of normal order.

Noah shook his head.

None of that concerned him.

What happened to Sakaar later was irrelevant.

He didn't have the capacity to care.

All he needed to worry about was himself, his organization, and the Ministry of Magic that fully supported him.

The pale gold light flickered.

The next moment, Noah and Fat Thor appeared in a remote area.

The sudden teleport nearly sent Fat Thor stumbling.

He hated this kind of travel.

Doctor Strange had put him through it more than once in his universe, leaving him with lasting trauma.

He shot Noah a frustrated look.

Then he turned-and froze.

The Valkyrie stood there with her mouth wide open, panic written all over her face.

"Dammit! Who the hell are you? You chased me all the way here?"

She shouted and immediately drew her weapon.

"I'm not one of their soldiers! I just live here and serve them temporarily! I left five seconds ago, alright?"

"No," Noah said calmly.

"You left because you saw me defeat everyone."

Fat Thor opened his mouth.

Noah continued.

"Don't deny it. I watched the entire field."

"Cursed bastards!" the Valkyrie snapped before Fat Thor could speak.

"You really have to kill everyone? You're a butcher! I won't be taken without a fight!"

"That's not up to you," Noah rolled his eyes.

Then he turned to Fat Thor, confused.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Didn't you say you'd handle this?"

Fat Thor almost laughed.

Did either of you give me a chance to talk?

He decided not to argue.

If he didn't speak now, this would actually turn into a fight.

Clearing his throat, he stepped forward.

"Uh... Valkyrie. It's good to see you again."

"And who are you?" She stared at him suspiciously.

"I don't remember a guy as obese as you. If you're going to fight, then fight. Don't play friend."

A Valkyrie was still a Valkyrie.

This was restraint, by her standards.

Fat Thor straightened.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to play friend," he said seriously.

"My name is Thor. Thor Odinson."

"That should make things clearer."

"Odinson?" Valkyrie looked him up and down for a long time.

Then she scoffed.

"I never imagined Odin's son would turn into this. Hard to believe."

She sneered.

"Fine. Fat boy. Prince Thor. What do you want?"

"I'm not a Valkyrie anymore. Not since your sister Hela wiped us out."

Her voice hardened.

"Why come looking for me? To drag me back into Odinson family drama? To lose everything again?"

"Not this time," Fat Thor said quietly.

He had heard these words before.

They hurt.

Because they were true.

"Oh? Not this time?" Valkyrie shook her head.

"Sorry. I have nothing left."

She lowered her weapon slightly.

"Can't you just let me live in peace? Forget about me. Forget my name. The Valkyries are gone."

"So am I."

"No," Fat Thor took a deep breath.

"You don't necessarily have nothing left."

He looked at her.

"What if... we could resurrect the Valkyries?"
