The demonic spider took in both the "giant" and the "monster" at the center of the flat battlefield.
Strangely, it felt a twinge of inferiority.
"And given the rule that what's shown at Federation military parades is rarely the ultimate trump card... first-tier cities might even be garrisoned by mechas even stronger than Xingtian."
Bai Jie fixed its gaze on Xingtian. Virtual information appeared.
[Target]: Xingtian (Unknown)
[Vitality]: ???
[Body Length]: 21m
[Status]: Stable
"As expected—since 'Xingtian' isn't a living creature, its Vitality can't be displayed?" Bai Jie murmured.
Bai Jie then turned its gaze to the flesh mountain monster. Despite facing Xingtian, which dwarfed it in size, the monster showed not a trace of fear. It advanced directly, roaring loudly, tentacles raised high—its threatening intent unmistakable.
[Target]: Flesh Mountain (Mutant)
[Vitality]: 99
[Body Length]: 14m
[Status]: Unstable
(Moderate spiritual energy reaction detected)
"Hm? After being damaged by the explosion, its Vitality is still this high? And it's only classified as a 'Mutant.'"
"The spiritual energy reaction isn't 'faint' anymore either."
As Bai Jie studied the flesh mountain monster, Xingtian made the first move.
One stride brought it directly before the flesh mountain. The earth trembled. The giant axe crashed down with the force of a thousand tons. The long tentacle arm raised to block was severed like rotten wood—the crack widened instantly, and in the blink of an eye, the entire limb broke off and fell!
The axe, like a dragon or tiger, kept roaring forward, determined to cleave the flesh mountain's body in two.
By now the flesh mountain had reacted. Unwilling to take the axe head-on, its other long arm coiled and wrapped directly around Xingtian's axe-wielding wrist.
Just as the axe was about to touch the flesh mountain's crown, its forward momentum came to an abrupt, rigid halt.
But the flesh mountain, after all, couldn't match Xingtian's size—especially with half its body gone and one arm severed—and struggled to withstand Xingtian's colossal strength.
CLANG!
A heavy, thunderous crash—Xingtian thrust its left-hand shield forward, slamming into the flesh mountain's knotted-muscle chest, caving in a massive shallow crater.
"ROAR!"
The flesh mountain let out a sudden agonized cry, staggering backward. Even the long arm restraining Xingtian's axe loosened slightly.
Xingtian seized the opportunity. On each side of its chest, a launch port opened. Energy gathered, light flickered within. Then—BOOM—two massive pillars of fire erupted simultaneously.
The fire columns were as thick as trains, crashing full-force into the flesh mountain's chest. Flames instantly spread across half its body.
At the same time, from Xingtian's navel, three rockets fired in rapid succession with a hiss-hiss-hiss.
At such close range, no guidance or aiming was needed. The rockets' warheads detonated violently on the monster, making its already broken body even more battered and wrecked.
The tide was turning. The two fighter jets in the sky poured bullets and missiles madly into the flesh mountain as well.
Wind howled, air exploded. That giant axe finally broke free of restraint—as if it could split heaven and earth—and once again swept down with ferocious, unstoppable power!
RIP. A crimson gash opened diagonally from the flesh mountain's neck all the way down to its lower body. A flood of blood blossomed violently outward.
"HOOOWL!"
Under the excruciating pain, the flesh mountain let out a shrill, plaintive wail—like a deathbed lament.
But paired with that hideous, revolting body and the horrifying wound, it only made people feel more disturbed and spiritually sick.
"The flesh mountain's Vitality is plummeting!"
Noticing this, Bai Jie immediately activated Invisibility Camouflage and swiftly closed in on the battle circle between mecha and monster.
"Xingtian's beaten the flesh mountain down to this much left. Wonder if it'll affect my spiritual energy absorption?"
The invisible Bai Jie was now less than a hundred meters from the battle.
Just as Bai Jie assumed the flesh mountain would soon breathe its last, it discovered Xingtian's axe was once again immobilized.
It was stuck inside the flesh mountain's body. No matter how Xingtian yanked, it couldn't pull the axe free.
"ROAR!"
The flesh mountain erupted with another massive roar. Its single remaining long arm suddenly shot straight out—like a dragon or serpent emerging from the sea—smashing violently toward Xingtian's heart. It was counterattacking!
Xingtian arched its body slightly to the side while its shield attempted to block, but it couldn't stop the long arm. The arm drilled straight into its chest.
A black tiger tearing out the heart.
CRASH—the flame vents shattered, replaced by a gaping hole exposing sparking machinery and cables.
"What!? Xingtian's actually wounded!"
A shocked cry came from hundreds of meters away. It was that female streamer—she still hadn't left!
"Ma'am, this is my final warning. Please evacuate the scene immediately," the Enforcer machine said expressionlessly.
"Go support Xingtian already! What are you all standing around watching for!?" the streamer yelled urgently at the Enforcer.
The Enforcer shook its head: "We're out of ranged weapons. Getting close to that kind of combat would only create unnecessary casualties."
"Besides, that monster is already at the end of its rope. This is nothing but a dying thrash."
BANG—a huge crash.
Xingtian shoved the flesh mountain away with its shield, abandoned the axe altogether, and pulled back to range. Flames from its chest spewed a hundred meters, engulfing the flesh mountain.
At the same time, rockets fired from its abdomen as if they cost nothing—over a dozen rockets in the span of a breath, erupting into violent explosive fire upon contact with the flesh mountain.
The fighter jets' fire support was pushed to maximum too. A metal storm swept across the eldritch flesh.
The flesh mountain was swiftly swallowed by flames and explosions, not even letting out a sound.
But Xingtian didn't stop. As if driven by some emotion, flames and rockets continued their frenzied bombardment without pause!
"The flesh mountain is done for! Vitality's dropped to 40, and its status just updated to 'Dying'!"
Bai Jie's heart raced, but it still didn't dare approach rashly. Under Xingtian's terrifying assault, even it wasn't confident it could survive.
Seconds ticked by. Bai Jie kept waiting for an opening.
Ding!
[Target "Flesh Mountain Monster" status updated to "Deceased"!]
Yet even now, Xingtian's attack hadn't stopped. The flesh mountain's corpse was already shrouded in a dense cloud of fire and smoke, impossible to see clearly.
After roughly a minute, Xingtian finally halted—though whether it was because it had run out of ammunition was unclear.
The smoke dispersed. The flesh mountain had been reduced to a heap of charred, blackened meat, emitting a pungent, nauseating stench. But within that mound of flesh, a pink-purple glow stood out exceptionally bright.
"Xingtian wins! The monster is finally dead!"
"Everyone, oh my god, I want to cry... I knew Xingtian would win. That's why I stayed until the very last moment."
The female streamer sighed. Her chat erupted in cheers. She was the only human on scene who hadn't fled.
"Wait, what's that?"
She spotted that beautiful, eerie glow.
"It's a meteorite fragment!"
Bai Jie, seeing the light, felt its spirit soar. With a faint shimmer of electric arcs, its figure vanished from its original spot.
