Chapter 364 - 364. Tokyo

{Asher's POV}

I was greeted by a building I knew far too well.

The smooth wooden floors beneath my feet, the narrow passage to my left—the very spot where I had collapsed, clutching my chest as my heart gave out—it all came rushing back with unsettling clarity.

There was no mistaking it.

This was my former home.

The house sat in an eerie silence, broken only by the faint hum of a refrigerator somewhere in the kitchen. It didn't take long to realize why. When I glanced at the clock hanging in the dining room, it confirmed it—it was the middle of the night. Everyone was fast asleep.

Though… something felt off.

The clock itself wasn't the same one we used to have, and even its position had changed. Once I started paying attention, the differences became harder to ignore. The couches, the TV, the small details scattered around the room—new. Replaced. Yet somehow, the soul of the place remained untouched.

Familiar, but no longer mine.
