Chapter 366 - Injustice

Everyone had been drugged; somehow the people who had rebelled used some kind of chemical to put everyone gathered at the event to sleep.

In the blink of an eye, more than 30 people slowly gathered forward, most of them men. They all held weapons, and their faces had been covered with a black cloth, leaving only their eyes exposed.

The leader of the rebels also covered his face, but unlike the others, he wore a different mask, and every corner of his skin was hidden, even his hands were covered.

Except for those who were still standing in the plaza, the rest of the people had basically fallen into a deep sleep. Only a few people remained awake, but eventually everyone fainted.

The masked man signaled to the people beside him, and then several people walked to the back. Soon, a truck full of weapons arrived.

"Let's begin!"

The masked man led the group to the center of the platform, saw a row of more than a dozen people sitting on the stage, kicked Jason hard to the ground, and his subordinates quickly tied up the dozens of people and piled them up next to the others.

Immediately after, more than 30 people began equipping weapons, then searched everyone present and confiscated all weapons in the area. These people scattered and surrounded the plaza.

Click!

The masked man stabbed the dagger he was holding into the table in front of him, pulled up a chair, and sat on it with his legs resting on the table.

"Did you finish counting?"

"There are too many people, but including the man who arrived from Atlanta, there are some people missing. Many are outside the wall keeping watch over the base. Others are working on very specific things."

The masked man nodded and stopped talking. The rest of the people dispersed around the plaza. More than thirty people formed a loose circle, surrounding everyone present.

These people were in no hurry; they simply stayed still, as if waiting for the people there to wake up.

What no one noticed was that in the distance, a young man with a weak appearance watched all those masked people with an ironic smile. Tyler, who was Jason's most loyal shadow, wore a bulletproof vest, a weapon in his hands, and behind him stood people with red masks waiting.

"Just as the commander ordered, we must not eliminate all the rebels!"

Tyler turned around and slowly walked down. All the people behind him belonged to the Red Force, an order in charge of eliminating rebels, and right now they were about to clean up this careless base.

"Yes, sir!"

...

Jason, who was on the ground next to the others who had fallen asleep from the sedative, began to show signs of waking up, and some of them even had knives in their hands, but even so, they were truly sedated even if their consciousness was not.

After waiting more than an hour, people began to wake up one after another.

A survivor woke up and quickly realized something was wrong. However, when he tried to stand up, he found himself weak. He immediately realized someone had sedated them, and when he looked up, he saw a man holding a gun right beside him.

These people are not soldiers!

"What are you doing?"

"Shut up! Don't make me shoot you!"

The man closed his mouth, but not before looking around, trying to understand what was happening and how they had ended up in this situation.

After another half hour, more than half of the people present were already awake, and some wanted to resist, but due to the effect of the drug, they did not cause much trouble and were quickly subdued.

At this moment, the masked man guarding Jason and the others remained apparently calm, already dreaming of a comfortable life in the future.

What the hell is going on with the renowned captains of this place? If it weren't for the repercussions in the future, he would have already killed all the leaders of this place.

Thinking about this, the man immediately felt comfort in his actions. He was about to speak but was startled by a hoarse voice.

The masked man had already walked in front of the commander of this organization at some point, but he did not look at him. Instead, he stared at the few people sitting on the ground.

"Commander Jason, Captain Rick, you didn't expect the meeting to turn out this way, did you?"

Jason's expression, hidden by his long hair, was indifferent. He simply looked at the man in front of him without saying a single word.

The masked man was not angry either. After all, he already had the sweet fruit in his hands and didn't care what the losers thought.

But what needed to be said still had to be heard by the others. A follower of the masked man approached to tell him something, and the man nodded in response.

"Hahaha, not bad, not bad at all, step by step."

The masked man walked toward the stage, looked at the people below who had already woken up, jumped onto the table, looked at the person lying on the ground, and felt an overwhelming arrogance in his body.

"Listen up, from now on I will be in charge of this meeting, where all of you will learn the future of this base, and everything you must obey."

But as soon as he finished speaking, he heard voices of doubt among the crowd.

"Who are you? Why should we listen to you?"

"Yeah, is there something disgusting on your stupid face that you have to cover yourself like that?"

Bang Bang Bang!

Hearing the noise below, the masked man fired several shots directly into the air, and the scene suddenly fell silent.

Letting out some sinister laughs, the masked man pointed at his fully armed accomplices.

"Look around before you speak. Those people don't care who you are—they will simply kill anyone who resists!"

Seeing everyone fall silent, the masked man continued speaking.

"A warning to everyone sitting here—your lives are now in our hands. You need to listen carefully to what I'm going to say next; it will determine whether you live well in the future or not."

"The base has been established for more than a year, but we have been doing the lowest and heaviest jobs and have never been able to rise to leadership positions. Why is that?"

"Is it because we're not doing enough? Or because they're better than us? No, no, no, I don't think so. Have you ever thought about what the base will look like once this shitty government is fully established?"

The masked man became increasingly agitated, and his tone grew passionate: "Let me tell you, this place will become their backyard, and we will only be reduced to tools!"

"Did you hear what he said just now? Military schools, training, and production. If we allow that system to be used here as it is in the city, then we will never have a chance to rise to power."

"Sooner or later, this place will become a hierarchical prison. All of you are slaves in the prison! Spend your whole life and the lives of your descendants serving these greedy bastards!"

Thud!

The masked man stomped the table with his right foot, as if his emotions had reached a critical point, but his voice suddenly calmed down a second later.

"Now, I'll give you an opportunity! As long as you stand up and express your dissatisfaction with these people, we will formally invite you to join our side! Not only that—we will reward you with food, with women!"

Upon hearing this, several people who usually had a strong sense of justice struggled to stand up despite their weakness. Glenn looked at the people standing, growing even angrier.

"Don't be stupid and stand up! Once you betray the trust of the organization, you will die horribly! Don't you know there are thousands of soldiers outside this base? All traitors will be killed!"

"Shut up! Ignorant idiot!"

The masked man jumped violently and leaped off the table.

Bang!

The gunshot rang out, and Glenn lowered his head, holding his chest in disbelief. His clothes were quickly stained red. His body lost strength and collapsed heavily to the ground.

Thud!

"Don't betray the trust…" Glenn murmured those words before closing his eyes, while the bright sun in the sky illuminated his pale face.
