Edmund slipped in through the window first, followed by the others once Primrose had already dealt with the soldiers.
Aster, who had no idea what was going on, looked completely confused. She couldn't understand why the soldiers didn't react at all, even when a group of intruders stood right in front of them. Worse, they moved like lifeless dolls, frozen in place unless someone made them act.
"Rosie… what's going on here?" Aster whispered as soon as she climbed down from Callen's arms.
Primrose simply shrugged. "I bribed them."
Aster blinked, her eyes slowly widening. "Y-You bribed them? Aren't we not allowed to do that to royal soldiers?"
Primrose smiled lightly, not looking guilty at all. "Oh, my dear Aster… we can do anything. You just need enough money." She tilted her head slightly. "Anyway, why don't we check that lock over there?"
