"Xu Zhen listen, I will teach you personally once you reach the age of 15." Lin Yueqing said.
"Why then?" Susheel asked in a curious tone. His eyes were glinting with curiosity.
Lin Yueqing could not resist those adorable eyes he made when he was curious about something.
"Zhen'er although you wouldn't understand much if I tell you know as you are not of age yet. But I will still tell you the basics." Lin Yueqing took Xu Zhen to her arms and strolled around as she talked.
"A person naturally forms their dantian at the age of 13. But it only forms completely by the age of 15. If a person who is not of the age shows haste and starts their cultivation prematurely they would face countless setbacks which could even result in death." Her tone grew grave towards the end.
The life of a cultivator is precarious.
This is but a truth that every cultivator knows.
Mortals may revere cultivators as immortal beings or feel jealousy towards them for being 'lucky'. But each and every cultivator knows that cultivation is something that luck alone cannot make you excel at it. It requires dedication, talent, character and of course a little bit of luck to make it far in the journey of cultivation.
This was a simple yet harsh truth of cultivation.
It is easy to misunderstand things when you do not posses enough knowledge about it.
However just because one is stronger than you does not mean he did not work hard for it.
Lin Yueqing the looked at susheel. His eyes had went from that of curiosity to that of a person immersed in a deep thought.
"How weird. To think Zhen'er would go into a deep thought than to be afraid of cultivation based on what i said." Lin Yueqing was weirded out.
"So weird. All of this is so weird. I do not know what this cultivation thing is they are talking about. However what I know is that it is a double edged sword. If i tread on the right path then it is the best thing that could happen to me in all my two lives however one wrong step and i am gone?" Susheel had fallen into a complete state of immersion.
Lin Yueqing did not mind it and laid Xu zhen on the bed before leaving.
Time passed by quickly. Although 12 years of waiting for susheel was hard to endure he still waited. Each day he would try to get information about this world from various people. But unfortunately he was not allowed to leave the mountain, therefore he only talked to mortals. And the mortals couldn't answer all of susheel's question.
12 years passed in a blink of an eye.
Lin Yueqing exited her cultivation session. She would only cultivate for three months straight before exiting and taking care of susheel.
Lin Yueqing called susheel into the room.
Susheel sat in front of his mother his arms seemed to be trembling. But this trembling was not from fear... It was from excitement. Excitement about what he is going to learn. Excitement about how he is going to go back. He always had this feeling that cultivation would be the key for him to go back to earth.
Lin Yueqing started to speak. Her voice was low but susheel could hear it clearly. " Xu Zhen, do you know what cultivation is? What the purpose of cultivation is?" She asked susheel.
Susheel shook his head as he replied with an expectant gaze. "No, mother please enlighten me."
Lin Yueqing's looked at susheel with a soft gaze as she began to speak. "Cultivation is a method to obtain power. In this world one's cultivation shows their social status. If one has high cultivation they would be respected. But if one is only a mortal their lives would treated like that of a livestock.
One could cultivate their body, their soul and their mind. In the end the main purpose for cultivation apart from all the other reasons I mentioned is longevity."
"Longevity? What's that? What is longevity?" Susheel asked.( Its a joke.)
Lin Yueqing looked at susheel and sighed before answering. "Longevity refers to lifespan. The higher your cultivation the longer your lifespan is or in other words the higher your cultivation is the longer you can live."
Hearing the answer susheel hurriedly asked. "Then how do I start my cultivation journey?"
Lin Yueqing quickly replied. "For that you have to awaken your dantian. I believe you should already have sensed the energy that flows through you, right?"
"Hmm. Yes I do indeed feel an energy flowing through me." Susheel replied.
"That energy is what we call qi. There is qi everywhere in this world. Qi is a necessity for cultivators to start cultivation and to continue their cultivation." Lin Yueqing spoke.
"Mother, what cultivation realm are you on?" Susheel asked again with an expectant gaze as always seemingly excited about the reply.
"I am in the core formation early stage realm." Lin Yueqing replied with a proud tone.
"Then are you the strongest?"
"No, your father is stronger than me and moreover core formation realm is not the end of the cultivation journey. As far as we have discovered there are 7 realms. Each much stronger than the previous. I am only at the fourth while your father in other words my husband is at the fifth realm."
